Pappas Bar-B-Q
What people are saying
We stopped in for dinner while waiting on our flight to return home. It was very busy and we had to wait about 15 minutes. They took our phone number and gave us a call when our table wa ready which allow us to do other things while waiting. The staff was very nice and friendly. We ordered the burger and fries. The burgers were nice and juicy and perfectly cooked. The fries were nice and crispy and the beer was ice cold. It was our first time eating here and enjoyed our dining experience.
This location is inside the airport, outside of the TSA Secure area. The service was quick and friendly. The portion sizes were hearty and the prices were reasonable for an airport. The BBQ Beef Sandwich was flavorful, but the beef was very fatty. I expect brisket to be fatty, but my serving was a substantial amount of unedible pieces. The side was the macaroni and cheese. The serving size was bigger than expected, but unfortunately it was quite bland and VERY runny. The BBQ Pork also had lots of flavor. The sandwich was great. It was served with fries that were seasoned well and plentiful. On our next trip to Houston we will try a Pappas establishment outside the airport.
When they say everything is bigger in TX, the did not lie!!! This place has the BEST brisket I have ever eaten! My loaded baked potato was huge. It was a meal in itself. Now my yams were hard and undercooked, but the tenderness and succulence of my meat made up for it. I purchased the Beef Trio with ribs, brisket, and sausage. The sauce was different than the SC BBQ I’m used to. It was too runny and sweet for my liking. However, again... the meat made me happy. I’d fly from FL all the way back to TX just to get that brisket. Oh yes, who knew that TX dirty rice was so delicious.
Not too busy, decently quick service. Server was responsive and food was made with correct ask. Veggie burger was a bit salty but good overall. Fries were to par, crunchy. Chicken salad was good with an Arnold palmer, mixed well.
I always enjoy coming to this location to have the baked potato fully loaded with sausage. Took a star away because it seems as though sometimes the portion of sausage put into my potato is no enough Seems to look like more (portion wise) when the sausage is sliced side ways then cut into a bunch of cubes There is usually not an actual bartender either. Everyone behind the counter pretty much operates the bar services too
