Motel 6 Sunnyvale, CA - North
What people are saying
The bed was comfortable. However, our recent stay was disappointing. The walls are thin, allowing noise from neighboring rooms to disturb us. The outside lights were too bright, making it hard to sleep. Furthermore, we were repeatedly disturbed during the night at midnight, 2 am, and 5 am by what appeared to be a person soliciting. At 2 am, I went to the lobby to request a room change, but despite the hotel seemingly having plenty of vacancies, I was informed that it wasn't possible. Instead, the staff member simply knocked on the noisy room's door. I do not recommend this motel.
Eh, you get what you pay for. The grounds were kind didn't seem very clean and reeked of cat urine. The hot water was not working on arrival, but was working the next morning, they did make me aware of this at check in. Once in the room, the room was clean and seemed to have been recently renovated. Fine for getting a night of sleep, showering, and getting on your way. Keep in mind, there are no irons or hair dryers in the room, but they do have them at the desk if you would like to leave your ID to use them.
I am fully aware you get what you paid for but somethings are just crazy to ignore. I stayed here for 4 days because it was a reasonable price and close to my job. Entering the room 300 right by the door it smelled like someone pissed right outside the door. The room smelled like a public bathroom. You can’t open a window so I had to leave the door open for a while to air it out. Burn holes in the curtains but it’s a motel 6 that’s to be expected. What I didn’t expect was ants and dirty water. I wasn’t thinking ants would attack my donuts in a short manner of time I left them on the table by the window. 30 minutes later they were all over the donuts. March 21st the motel FAILED to inform guest that they would be turning the water off until 5pm. The water did not turn back on until 8pm and when it did it was dirty and cold. Had to run the water for an hour and 30 minutes before it ran clear and hot. When trying to call the front desk about the problem they let the phones ring and no one could be found working the front desk at the time. Overall if you really just need a place for a few nights sure. If you can squeeze a few dollars out for better service I recommend doing so.
Worth the extra money going here instead of the one across the street. The front desk was super friendly and nice. The room was very clean, everything worked and I was especially surprised at the super fluffy newer pillows. I'm used to motel 6 pillows being flat so imagine my surprise haha. The mattress was also brand new and I slept very well I was even a few minutes late for checkout! Would recommend this location since it's super convenient to get to as well.
What did you expect? It's low budget. Bed with a huge dip in it. Threadbare towels frayed. Soap, that's all. Bring your own everything. No decor. One ice machine in the lobby. Yes the a/c worked, some hot water no pressure, convenient to freeway but far enough to be quiet. Close to downtown and plenty of eats. Yes the dog stays free, but we're moving up a level next time. Addendum: 3 bad bug bites from the bed. Still bad after 5 days.
