Memorial Cross Park
What people are saying
Looks like it was once a nice very small park, but now it's in sad shape. "The park marks the location of the 2nd mission established in the city by the Franciscan Padres (in 1779)." There's the base of a monument where the memorial cross once stood (from 1953-2016). A few benches and a little shade, but it apparently hasn't been maintained in some time.
I used to pass it every morning on the way to work and I've always enjoyed the serenity of it. It's a little oasis in the middle of fast-paced businesses & a very busy airport. It's for everyone's enjoyment, so if the atheists don't like it, they should look at something that makes them happy and leave our cross alone. Christians have the right to enjoy it.
A nice small park. A scenic break from the stark Airport and industrial surroundings. No amenities. Street parking only.
Small park next to airport, no parking.
No memorial cross and no historic marker
