Lost Colony Tavern
What people are saying
We stopped in for drinks and wings on a Friday evening mid-June before taking a sunset cruise with Downeaster Rover (highly recommend- see that review for details.) We sat at the bar and had a beer and a cocktail along with the jerk wings. Everything was good. The bartender was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was easy and laid back. They have pickled eggs in jars in the counter for purchase. We didn’t get any but it was an interesting option. We did end up stopping in again before we left town the next day. We parked on the street both times with no problem.
Good, a bit small, beer is alright. I really like the location and the way it looks and all that. The pretzel was good, the mustard a tad hot in a good way, the impossible burger was good and nominal. The beer flight was ok, not great though, but fine. I found it odd that none of their beers were on the beer list, aside from the four on the flight, but it was a tad confusing, but that's fine. They didn't have the door to the store opened and I wanted to get a six pack to take home, I like the artwork. But you had to ask the bartender to open it, which we did and he said it's just be a second. We waited for 5 minutes and gave up, I didn't need it that badly. The annoying thing was only that there were many employees walking around any of which had plenty of time to unlock a door, but for some silly reason you have to wait on a busy bartender. Not worth my time or interest. I like this place but I left annoyed.
Guinness Stew was really good & hearty - full of chunks of beef and vegetables with a hint of Guinness Stout! The Shepherd's Pie was definitely Irish 😄 with the cheese, peas, beans, and corn! Definitely not British😁 Great attentive service.
The food was delicious, burger was cooked perfectly, fish and chips were amazing. The beer was delicious and paired well with the food
Let’s begin by saying this place does not disappoint! The food, the service, the staff are friendly and welcoming. We finished up our anniversary celebration with their delicious wild game burger and incredibly crispy and delicious fries. The waiter and bar tender worked together to make me an AMAZING Mudslide! I was able to purchase a pretty souvenir wine glass like the one my Mudslide came in to commemorate our 45th anniversary. Thank you all for a great evening!
