It is very hard to decide what I liked best about The Burrus House. Of course, you could say the location is amazing. Or you could say the facility itself is spotless, immaculately maintained and our room was fastidiously cared for. All of these things are certainly true, however for me, it was the staff. Incredibly polite and genuinely concerned that our stay be everything we hoped for. From restaurant recommendations to directions to reach our activities, always there, always prepared and always spot on. In an age where customer service seems like an afterthought, if at all, The Burrus House delivers this as job 1 and with five stars. We will be back! Thank you.

What a wonderful surprise when we pulled in to The Burris Inn. We stayed in the bungalow along with our dog Sophie. The room was outstanding and very comfortable. The staff at this resort was over the top! Special thanks goes out to Donna May. She truly epitomizes southern hospitality at its finest. The breakfast bar had the best coffee in the world! We arrived on July 2 and left on July 6. We had an amazing view of the July 4 fireworks from our deck overlooking the bay. I cannot Thank Vicky for all her help checking us in and help with the luggage. Just so you know my wife and I are both handicapped and they have an excellent elevator to get to your floor. We will definitely return next year Jim and Ellie.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay. Rooms were clean, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance staff were very welcoming and helpful. (Special thanks to Donnamae). Breakfast and snack/cookie options were right on target. Views were wonderful. And the outer banks area from Carova Beach to Hatteras was unique and beautiful. We went there to relax and see a different part of the country - mission accomplished.

What a wonderful experience! The staff at the Burrus house seemed to really care that we had a great experience. The room was beautiful. The location was perfect. And the amenities were a huge bonus. Kayaking in the sound offered great fishing. My wife and I used the bikes to go to downtown Manteo. Breakfast was good and they gave us great recommendations for local restaurants. Thanks for a great anniversary!

We had a wonderful time over the 4th of July holiday. The Inn was fully booked and the rooms still felt very private. We were in the Thomas Rayburn room which is the smallest room at the Inn. It was the prefect size for a couple and the porch was air conditioned with a wonderful view. The fireworks could be seen with comfort considering it was very hot and humid. The staff was considerate and engaging when needed. The entire Inn was super clean and the breakfasts were delicious. Thanks so much we had a fantastic time.
