My wife and I stayed 3 nights starting April 21st. We have stayed previously but did not like the firm mattresses. So I called and asked the desk before I made the reservation this time if they had switched to a softer mattress and they said they did. We really like the new mattress as it's much more comfortable! This hotel will be our go-to in the future as we visit relatives in the area. The train noise isn't really that bad, as they seemed to come through in the morning.

I really only have two complaints. We stayed just to have a night out and use the pool in an attempt to kick those stuck inside winter blues. We live about 25 minutes from the hotel. I searched the website and reviews to make sure they accepted local guests since some hotels don’t. Now I don’t mind paying a deposit. But no where on the website does it say a $200 cash deposit is required for locals. CASH. And then to have the audacity to not have an atm on site knowing you’re requiring a large CASH deposit is ridiculous. I’d happily have put the deposit on my debit card. But the lady at the front desk said the owner doesn’t like to deal with electronic refunds. So sorry to inconvenience you I guess? Then she tells me to get the deposit back someone has to check our room when we check out. Well I hope when someone checks it they get to hear the a/c unit that I had to hear at 2am sounding like I just started up an Amtrak train. Overall the hotel is just average. There’s nothing that sets them apart from the lower cost hotels. Beds and breakfast are average. He microwave has seen better days. We’ve stayed across the street at the Quality Inn before and it met our needs. Next time I’ll stay in Champaign again and avoid the hassle. The Country Inn in Champaign is so nice with large comfy beds for only $72/night.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Outstanding breakfast selection and eating area. I’ve stayed at other Danville area hotels and most don’t measure up. Holiday Inn Express does and I recommend you try it.

Was here for 4 nights. Beds were comfortable but was disappointed the bathroom floor had obviously not been cleaned prior to arrival. Breakfast was delicious every morning with nice options.
