Hello travelers ☕️ I departed the Florence SC train . Check in was nice and easy. There is seating inside while waiting for your train. Customer service was very friendly. Checking bags was easy. Only issue several people had were we all are disabled and there was not proper help for for riders who had difficulty boarding. I have 2 bad knees and steps are a problem for me. It took me a while but I boarded but was in pain. Me and another lady were not allowed to be seated in the reserved setting for disabled, we both were clearly disabled. I enjoyed my train ride back to NJ Despite the ice cold train. Staff were friendly. I would like for amtrak to start a food card that offers food or someone who can come around and take order. I was able to retrieve food. because of my knees and I didn't want to fall while the train was moving. Over all I give on a scale 1-10 Amtrak 10🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟stars Enjoy your next trip with Amtrak where we can enjoy a nice ride and leave the driving to someone else😁 it feels so good no fighting traffic to get to my destination Just smooth sailing ✌️
Florence station is a very nice station from the waiting room. You have windows with the view of constant tracking of the CSX trains. Very cool.
My daughter is from New York City normally when she comes down here she catches the 6:00 a.m. train in New York City at Penn station and arrives down here at Florence station in South Carolina about 5:51 p.m. when she leaves to go back to New York she catches the Amtrak at 5:51 p.m. heading back to New York and she arrives around 6:00 a.m. in the morning at Penn station
small station, but cozy. especially if you arrive there at night. but beware of the man asking if "anybody need a cab?" he overcharges by a buttload. he also attempts to make small talk on these rides but isn't very respectful. speaking from experience: 4 years ago, my grandmother [who didn't live in town, I did] we got a ride from the florence station to my mom's home in hartsville - roughly a 25 minute commute - he charged her 77 dollars] anyway. overall, great station all around, everyone who works there is wonderful [in my experience] & i travel from rocky mount to florence, about once every two to three weeks. no complaints so far - aside from the odd taxi man thing but that was years ago. 😆
