Eastern Hills Mall Cinema
What people are saying
This place is like stepping back in time. It was kind of fun going here because it's so outdated, the bathrooms are clean but straight out of late 80s early 90s. Movie screen is small and audio is just ok. Popcorn was not very good.
There is a certain timeless feel when going to this theater. It brings me back to seeing a movie as a kid. I would best describe it as a theater for people who not just like movies but love them. This isn't a high end multiplex with gaint screens and high end sounds. This is an older theater that gets the less talked about independent and art films. Not to say it doesn't get some of the big movies of the year. The theater itself is small, yet has comfy seats and has all the basic needs youd want. I've never had a bad experience here. This theater will always hold a special place to me but I would find it harder to recommend to someone who just wants to see the big studio films. If you are a lover a indie films I would recommend.
I usually go to the Dipson Amherst location, but I had such a bad experience there recently, I decided to drive down the road to Dipson Eastern Hills, and I am so happy I did. I didn’t have to choose my seat from a minuscule screen. I was able to walk into the theater and sit wherever I wanted to enjoy my popcorn, drink and movie that was playing. The employees were awesome.
Attending Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival at this cinema. How wonderful to have film directors present every day of the festival. Be able to see 90 movies for one price over the week's time. Local films, foreign films, USA and Canada films and animations. Various genre. Q&A following many films shown, gives one an opportunity to ask any question about the making of the film. Many East Coast and West Coast film directors, as well as from Texas and South Dakota. I'm definitely impressed with the number of persons present from out-of-town and out-of-state. Quite the showing as we are still in pandemic mode. While present for the awards ceremony, was able to see the hand made glass ornamental sculptures with Buffalo insignia and brass plates naming the award and winner. Crafted and designed by artist Kim Piazza in an array of colors! Kudos to thee directors of this film festival, in year #8, as attendees have bragged about the quality of the films shown. The first day many expressed it was the best showing of films at any festival as every single film was good! That sentiment continued. The employees of the cinema have been on point, aware, congenial and up to the task of making the cinema experience a good one. Comfortable seating! The smell of popcorn---there must be a heck of a deal on popcorn, as many patrons enter with a blue refillable bucket. Amazing parking.
We recently rented out the theater for a COVID safe/friendly outing. Bryan was extremely helpful and made the process of renting the theater easy. The experience itself was extremely enjoyable and he was very accommodating. Would love to do it again soon!
