Days Inn by Wyndham Socorro

Nice room and service. This place looks kinda run down from the outside, but I was actually impressed overall. The room was nice and clean. Bed and pillows were comfy. Bed side tables have USB. I think this is an old motel that has been renovated. Things I look for: good price, clean, and safe. This passed all 3. Half the price of other motels in the area. Rooms have a few cosmetic dings here and there but nothing to be concerned about.
Oh boy. Where do I begin? We just needed a spot to rest our weary heads on our way through to Roswell. I didn’t expect a palace or anything being out in the middle of nowhere. The good: the man who checked us in was nice and efficient. Considering we didn’t even get there until nearly 11 pm and we were exhausted, that was nice. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was excellent. It was also very quiet there. The bad: Breakfast options were very limited and not even worth considering for us. The place could use some updating. The bed was comfortable but squeaky as heck and super annoying. The ugly: the bathroom had splotchy tile and the water was cold. Not tepid, not lukewarm, cold. The provided soap bottle at the sink was empty. Thankfully I brought my own. I get it’s the desert but who wants a cold shower with no soap?! Overall — you get what you pay for. It was a place to get some rest before we kept driving but definitely not a place I’d stay again.
We went to Socorro, NM to escape the smoke from the wildfires in Lincoln County after being evacuated from our home in Alto, NM. We were able to book a large, three bed room that allowed the four of us and 4 cats. 2 dogs, and a tortoise to stay. The Manager was so nice! She gave me info on where to go for assistance, and even worked with the Red Cross and the donation center set up at the Socorro County Fairgrounds, local restaurants and a laundromat to give free or discounted services for evacuees. We paid for 3 nights, and she arranged for us to stay an additional 3 nights at no cost to us. I thank God for sending us to this angel in our time of need.
This is multigenerational family operated, older motel that has some very nice updates. I’m comparing it with other Wyndham hotels we stayed in recently in CO where we paid double what we paid here. This was well worth the price as we got what we came for, a good nights sleep. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room, the comfort of the bed and the quiet in the area. Had a fabulous dinner at Yo’ mamas down the street and anything we asked for was provided quickly and with a smile.
We stopped in for a night on our way west to the VLA and was a great night. Rooms were clean, and comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of options, coffee was fresh and hot. Mountain views were beautiful. Ample parking for our truck and trailer.
