This is an older Holiday Inn Express. It shows a little wear. BUT here are the good points. It was clean. The ac and beds and shower pressure were great. The breakfast choices had egg white omelets as well as the traditional omelets and they were great. Check in/out was easy.
Room was clean upon arrival. Room was never cleaned during the five night stay. First night the sheets were changed then never again, trash wasn't taken out and towels weren't changed during extent of stay. Breakfast was fine. The shower wasn't great because the head leaked and it robbed the shower head of pressure. Buddy staying with me on the trip in a different room had the sheets changed on the first night and found a blood stain on one of the new sheets
We arrived about 1 AM after traveling 8 hours, 8 hours of driving. Dead tired! We walked into the room and there was cocroaches. We walked right out and went to the front desk and informed the boy Kenny there is roaches. He offered another room we declined. If there's roaches in one room they are everywhere. He acted like he refunded our card upon leaving he did not. When I called he said he did refund me but he may not have done it right and to call the manager in the morning. When I called it took 3 calls with over 20 rings for front desk to pick up. She acted like she did not know what was going on and went on to say it can take up to 3 to 7 to 30 days to go back into my account then went on to say as per policy it clearly states if you cancel for any reason you will still be charged. I then told her oh you are aware of my situation. We did not get paperwork, we were not informed about policy and were told it would be refunded. Cocroaches, liars, and very rude customer service! I would not recommend the Holiday Inn in Socorro NM. 0 stars.
Never before have I written a review for a business but my experience was so negative that I felt compelled to tell my story. I’m on a business trip and came down from Albuquerque and when checking in, the lady at the front desk with black hair and piercings asked my name and for ID. I gave her both and then she asked for the credit card that was on file. Which of course I couldn’t produce because the reservation was made by my company through Hotel Engine. I tried explaining this to her and she got more and more agitated, even raising her voice. So, I gave her the number for Hotel Engine, and about 10 mins. later she lets me know that they don’t have anyone from my company staying here except one other person, and that my reservation isn’t it in the system. I ask who the person is and she says my name. I tell her that’s me. It turns out that she never listened to my name when I told her who I was or looked at my ID card and thingy I was a completely different person. She did apologize several time and gave me a free drink from the lobby, but wow, she was really quite disrespectful when all I was doing was trying to check in. Pretty horrible customer service and hospitality. I won’t be choosing to stay here again in the future.
I would advise anyone staying at this hotel, go to bed early because at 10:45 they will turn out the lights on you and tell you to go to your room. How disrespectful, and then if you go out on the patio for drinks and conversation, they run you off again. I was here for training all week, and are the ones that basically keeps this place open. I'm done with this place, and will never be back, I'll stay next door for the ones that respect First Responders.
