The Inn at Ole Miss
What people are saying
The only reason I am giving only four stars for the room is that I know there are people out there who would find them not up to Four Seasons standards. I think they are just the ticket for a stay in Oxford. For $130/night (that includes tax) you get a clean room, a VERY comfortable bed, and a clean bathroom (commode and shower are separated by a door from the vanity/sink, which is good). The room we had been "adopted" by an alumni couple who had decorated it with Ole Miss paraphernalia. Honestly, it was cheery and comfortable. I did not use the shuttle to the Square, but I was glad to know that it was available. I didn't take advantage of the pool either, but it looked to have been maintained well. No one was out there, but it was July 4 weekend, and the town was a little on the quiet side. Check-in and check-out could not have been easier or more pleasant. Full disclosure: I worked as a desk clerk there in the 1980s when it was called the Alumni House. I have stayed there five or so times since it was re-branded as the Inn, and I've stayed in both the new section and the older sections. I much prefer this hotel/inn to any of the other options in town.
Overall the inn was the perfect location and the rooms were a good size. The bed was very uncomfortable and I have to say seeing hairs that didn't belong to me in the bathroom was a little off putting but overall, it seemed clean and the shower pressure was nice. The restaurant there was pretty good. I definitely enjoyed their breakfast.
The lobby and hallways are very nice. The location of this hotel is great! But I can't recommend staying here the room felt like we were in a run-down Econolodge. The Carpets and furniture were disgusting and needed to be replaced. There was a line of dirt and dust around the edge of the walls. There were multiple large stains on the carpet. The furniture was stained and ragged. The bathroom was the worst part; the towels had holes and tears in them, the spout for the tub was coming off the wall, the shower curtain was barely hanging in the wall, and the vent cover was hanging out of the ceiling. The bathroom could really use some better lighting as well. The hair dryer's handle was so sticky and nasty that my wife couldn't use it. I expected better for $700.00 a night.
Exceptional Comfort and Southern Hospitality. My stay was nothing short of exceptional, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the University of Mississippi or the Oxford area. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm Southern hospitality and a level of service that truly exceeded my expectations. The location of The Inn at Ole Miss is perfect for anyone visiting the university. Nestled on the beautiful Ole Miss campus, it's just a short walk to all major campus landmarks, including The Grove, the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts, and Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The convenience of being so close to everything made my stay incredibly convenient and enjoyable. The accommodations at The Inn are top-notch. My room was spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. I appreciated the modern amenities, including a large flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a well-equipped workspace. The bathroom was also well-appointed, with plush towels and high-quality toiletries. One of the standout features of The Inn at Ole Miss is the level of service provided by the staff. Everyone I encountered, from the front desk personnel to the housekeeping staff, was friendly, professional, and eager to assist with any request. Their commitment to providing a memorable guest experience was evident in every interaction. The hotel also offers a range of excellent facilities and services. The complimentary breakfast was a highlight of my mornings, featuring a delicious assortment of hot and cold items, including Southern favorites like biscuits and gravy. The on-site fitness center was well-equipped, and the business center provided all the necessary amenities for staying productive while traveling. The Inn at Ole Miss also boasts beautiful common areas, including a charming courtyard and a cozy lobby. These spaces were perfect for relaxing with a book or catching up on work in a comfortable setting. The attention to detail in maintaining these areas further enhanced the overall experience. Another aspect worth mentioning is the ease of parking. The Inn offers ample parking space, which is a significant advantage, especially during busy university events or game days. The convenience of having secure, accessible parking added to the overall positive experience. In summary, The Inn at Ole Miss provides an outstanding blend of comfort, convenience, and Southern charm. The exceptional service, beautiful accommodations, and prime location make it a perfect choice for anyone visiting Oxford and the University of Mississippi.
The staff was extremely nice and very accommodating. The rooms were clean. It's a rather old building, however I would definitely recommend more seating in bedroom of suites and extra night stand. Lastly, if it wasn't an establishment on a college campus, it would be a 10/10. However it's 7.8/10 for me.
