I've always had great experiences at this location in the past so when I needed repairs. So I went out of route to this location to get my truck repaired. I had a coolant leak which after the pressure test came to the conclusion I needed a new radiator. I informed him Kenworth next door had an aftermarket radiator I wanted.The original mechanic working on my truck gave me a extremely high quote. I told him to call a specific parts guy at Kenworth dealership next door for an aftermarket radiator they have in stock from a local vendor. He never called. He tried to sell me an OEM for 4197.57 He told me that's all they can find and nothing he can do about it. And if I can find one cheaper I'm more than welcome to get it and he will complete the job. So that's exactly what I did. I had to walk over to Kenworth dealership to purchase it and asked them to deliver it to T/a for me. Mid way found out my belt tensioner is not good and needed replacement. I went to Kenworth dealership again to purchase. Mechanic thought it was the wrong one because the new one came with a bracket and he didn't take the bracket off my truck with the tensioner so I had to go back to switch it out. In the end I grabbed the right one the first time. Very frustrating when the mechanic tells you what part you need and doesn't even know it comes together with the bracket and makes you feel stupid like you don't know what you are doing when in reality I had brought him the correct one the first time and had to show him the numbers match and it comes with the bracket. Besides all that everything else was going well. I came to check on the truck later and new mechanic Austin was finishing my repair. 5 stars for Austin he was amazing and helpful he did an excellent job putting everything else back together finishing the original mechanic work. He had to figure out where the remaining bolts went that were left over. It took him a while but he got it all done. Washed off my engine from all the excessive coolant leak from before. He even cleaned the shop and area where my truck was being repaired and put everything away. He check for any leaks all was good till the next morning leaving the t/a I was getting on the highway i84 east as soon as I was in the lane to get on highway I heard a loud pop And a rumble sound which was air. I limped the truck on the shoulder called roadside to repair it. After inspecting on the side of the road I notice the original mechanic working on my truck never tighten the clamps on the driver side silicone charge air cooler hump hose boot. I was told 90 min wait time when I wasn't even a half a mile away. Very frustrating paying for a job to be done right breakdown .5 miles from leaving the shop and being told I have to wait 90 mins for something to fix what they messed up on. After waiting on the side of the road for an hour a cop checked on me and a mobile mechanic I paid the mobile mechanic cash to put the hose and clamp back on to get me rolling as I couldn't wait any longer. I needed to deliver my military load or i would be charged for late delivery. 5 star review for the Austin mechanic who helped on my truck at the end. He did an amazing job. Very kind and helpful. Answered all my questions for me. But 1 star for the experience with the original mechanic, him not finishing the job, over quoting me on estimate,the wait time for breakdown and having to pay out of pocket to have someone put the boot hose and clamp on so I wouldn't miss my delivery appt. Eventually the T/a did called me but I was already back on road and just made it to delivery. This all could have been avoided if the original mechanic who started working on my part finished the job and checked over his work. Invoice work order #167 308669
Truckers lounge is nice and quiet, everything is clean and tidy. FYI they do not take EBT and don’t try and sleep over night, someone comes and bangs on the sides of your vehicle and tries to open the doors. If I was certain that it was an employee I would report it to the manager there but I’m not sure
I absolutely love this truck stop but today was not a day I can say so!!! I went inside to grab some milk and while I was walking by the cashier's register I overheard an employee make some pretty disturbing comments towards a customer(racist slurs) after the customer walked away she decided it was hilarious to involve her coworkers in laughing at his enthity! This employee is a disgrace to the community! She did not at all make him feel safe and it would be a shame if she was allowed to continue working here! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! You are no better then him!
I was totally amazed! Incredible experience from a truck stop in a metropolitan area! I would give more stars if possible. Very large, very clean and very modern shower. Much to do if you are laying over or have time to kill. Better stocked than Walmart. And I never crossed an unhappy employee. Was grated with kindness and respect at every turn.
The BEST TA/PETRO in America from the employees to the bathrooms to the SUPER CLEAN SHOWERS. They actually had dust-free fans, light fixtures, HVAC registers, vents, and sprinklers in the bathrooms. The convenience and the common areas were also clean. I have been here 3 times in the last 12 months, and they are super consistent, and 2 of the 3 times that I have been here, it was snowing! No excuses to be made for all other locations!
