Stratford
What people are saying
They have two platforms and cops to guard the parking lots. It is a descant station. One thing they should add though is a pedestrian bridge to connect the platforms. The only way to get across the platforms currently is to go down to the sidewalk and go under the railway bridge.
Nice train station. I wish there was a connection between the north and south sides. But the station has a small restaurant and store, which is a nice addition. Pretty safe location. We used it to go back forth into NYC.
An announcement of a track change was only made once the GCT train arrived at the station. They didn’t attempt to retain the train so that I and at least 4 other passengers waiting could get to the other side of the track. This is not a station with an overhead vestibule. What use is it to apologize for an inconvenience when passengers were provided no time to walk around the station to get on the train with tickets they paid for.
Track 3 is on the StationHouse restaurant side of the station. This is typically where trains heading towards Grand Central will stop. Track 4 is on the Helicopter Museum side of the station. Typically trains going towards New Haven will stop here. This is a shorter Metro-North platform - not all cars will open at the station. This doesn’t matter if you’re getting on a train at Stratford. If you’re getting off here, listen for conductor announcements for where you need to be.
Good coffee shop by the train station
