Pacific Sunset Inn
What people are saying
Clean, no-frills hotel with basic amenities, but in a perfect location. It's older and family owned and run (very important to us)-- the owners live on site and are very responsive and keep the prices low while they are working on slowly renovating their little American dream-- room by room. We asked for more towels and got them quickly. We locked ourselves out of our room (twice) and they let us back and then chatted with us-- so friendly! I liked that we could bike/walk to several beaches (Harris Beach is a mile up the road) and downtown with all the great independent little shops, a vintage theater, and some great cafes. We felt like we were supporting real, kind, hard-working people and not another dumb hotel chain. We will return!
Felt safe & comfortable. The room wasn’t anything fancy but very clean and had what we needed. The service was great, we were running late and front desk stayed open to give us our key! It was just what we needed for our quick night stay on our roadtrip. Highly recommend!
This place is a diamond in the rough! I felt so comfortable and relaxed there. The moment we walked into the office to check in, we both felt at home. The owner, Tim, was very professional and helpful. The price for the room was GREAT! Very quiet and clean. I have already recommended Pacific Sunset to both of our boys. There are no rooms above the 2 wings, making it so there is no noise from upstairs. There is a small building on the property that has two levels. Where we were we had no neighbors in either room next to us. So quiet and relaxing. I want to thank the owners for making it such a wonderful experience. We will be making new reservations very soon. And a special thanks to Tim for sending the flashlight I forgot under my pillow. The hotel is very 50's or 60's. Very colorful and clean. Warm cozy beds and comfortable pillow.
We visited Brookings last year in August. We were going to be late to our motel and called to let them know. When we got there, the manager didn't want to help us. We contacted the police because manager would not answer our calls. The manager finally came to help after police contacted him. The room we were given wasn't secure. The lock was broken and we had to put a chair under the door knob. There was a broken lamp we couldn't use. Also, the manager lied to the police about our being late. We did call and manager told us to call when we arrived. He didn't give police the whole story, so my husband called police and straightened it out. Very disappointed in room and the way the manager treated us. We will never stay there again and neither should you. The room was over $100 and nowhere close to that price.
We stayed at the motel before and returned again for a short coastal getaway. We love Brookings and the Pacific Sunset Inn! The rooms are so clean and the owners are wonderful. Can't wait for our next visit!
