I am told my experience is not normal and only because of the balloon fiesta was it like this. The northbound train to Santa Fe did nothing but pick people up on its way to Santa Fe no one got off the train was loaded with people and every seat taken. The seats face each other 2 facing the front of the train and 2 facing the rear so you are sitting right across from someone you don’t know with about a foot or less of space between you. This gave me extreme anxiety because I was super close to this guy, I didn’t want to sit next too I couldn’t stretch out and I had to look elsewhere or close my eyes, so I wasn’t starring at him. It was extremely uncomfortable. The train does have power outlets and some seats have tables. It is a double decker train and we sat upstairs and downstairs it appeared on the way back from Santa Fe that the downstairs was less busy I do not know for the trip north as we were upstairs, and it was packed. I would recommend bringing headphones, water and maybe a snack as its about 2 hours on the standard route to get to Santa Fe. The conductors are nice and professional, and the train was clean. The Railrunner is so fun to ride. The Santa Fe station is so ghetto. C'mon Santa Fe, you have so many tourists going by .. EVERYDAY!!! Make it appealing. At least a bench available to sit on. There has absolutely not been a trace of work on the existing building

They keep talking about free WiFi and I was only able to connect a couple of times. And every time I ride my phone does not detect the wireless access point. Also it's always very crowded and stuffy. More overhead racks would be nice.
