New China Chinese Restaurant
What people are saying
Decided to check out New China since a few other Chinese places near me were closed on Mondays. Since then I’ve ordered from them a few more times. They are cheaper than others nearby and you get more food for your buck. The fried rice is delicious and not the generic yellow version. The owners are very friendly and the food is ready within ten minutes of ordering. Restaurant is clean and you can grab condiments and utensils if needed. New China will be my go to when I am craving Chinese food.
I have a love one, that flavors this restaurant. I have had the enjoyment of eating from here three times. I love fried dumplings. However not for this restaurant. Their fried dumplings where thick and doughy, so I will not be ordering them again from this restaurant. The first time I ate from here the fortune cookies where stale. However the last time I am glad to say, they where fresh as expected. I am also happy to report the entrees have been good! In the last month we have eaten takeout three times, from this restaurant. I am sure we will eat from here again. I enjoy the shrimp & broccoli, as well as the shrimp & vegetables! The other entree was lo mein & bourbon chicken, that was also tasty!
Pepper steak came out hot and faster than McDonald's drive thru. I ate all of it, which is good. Disappointed no cans of soda, the only canned drinks in cooler are for employees. Not sure egg rolls should be at bottom of drinks cooler uncovered. Bathroom out of service, lobby was grimey and uninviting . Not a fan of $7.5o lunch combo no drink no egg roll.
Hands down the worst hot wok I've had in Florida, and I've tried too many to count. Lo mein was greasy and entirely flavorless. Dumpling sauce was basically a cup of vinegar. Egg rolls were full of cooking oil, which soaked through the bag. I doubt any of this was made today, and I didn't end up eating it. Order was somehow 50% higher priced than shown on their menu, idk why, I didn't get a receipt. Do yourself a favor and drive 3 miles north to Green Lake.
Worst Chinese food I have ever had in Jacksonville, FL. Ordered chicken lo mein, bloated, old, flavorless noodles with rubbery chicken. Ordered steamed dumplings, the sauce was pure vinegar. Ordered a large egg drop soup, over cooked, old, flavorless, and smells nasty. Ordered egg rolls, edible but no sauces and oily.
