I've been coming to this bookstore for a couple of years now and it's an absolute gem in the Charleston metro area! Mr. K's is a bookstore that can be frequently visited because their inventory changes regularly, thanks to those that want to pass on their books, CDs, vinyl records, DVDs, and collectibles to others. Everything is very easy to find but if you still have trouble, the staff is friendly and willing to help. I've found some fantastic deals here that I haven't found online and even had the pleasure of meeting a local author! I've also utilized their trade in program and didn't think I would receive much for what I was turning in, but ended up with almost $40 back in store credit. This place is simply top shelf.
Charleston best store when it comes to used books, new books. They have vynil records that go back to my childhood! Talk a kit flashback to the early 80’s! I love this store. There is a big selection of DVD’s and Blu-ray movies and you can find just about any movie here, whether it’s an oldie to a current one they have it all. Their art section is amazing! Sketch books from steampunk to Asian art to tarot art and so much more. The children’s section is full of great books for any age. I love their comic book section they have comic books from the 90’s and back to the early 80’s. If you’ve never been here you need to come see this store! I promise you will return over and over. They never disappoint. My son enjoys the bargain book sale they have outside just about every weekend. Sign up to their email list you will get emails about upcoming events, sales, flash sales, and more. Great store, great inventory. Great staff. Located by Tanger outlets it’s the perfect spot.
I love Mr.K's used books,games and more a lot but I really need to take a trip there. I recently(8-13-21) made a trip to this store with my mom and I had 2 box's of used DVDs that we didn't want so we brought them with us to see if we can get store credit for them in which we did get some store credit which is totally awesome for me because I will buy a lot of books which I will spend between $1 to $70 in one trip because there are books that I wanted to read but not wanted to buy it from Barnes and Noble at a higher price so when I can get the book for pretty much half of what Barnes and Noble wants, I'm totally happy. Totally recommend this bookstore to anyone and everyone who might want to check out this store. So today (April 26,2023), I came down to this store because it will be closing on June 30,2023, which sinks because this is my favorite bookstore to come. So, I still have a few more trips to come down before they close.
Probably the cleanest, best-curated used book store I’ve ever visited. Friendly staff, deep selection, and very reasonable prices. I don’t get to Charleston very often, but when I do I make a trip here and its worth it every time.
