Monticello Inn
What people are saying
Staff was incredibly rude. My girlfriend and I made a reservation online through their website that states they are pet friendly, they are not. They cancelled our reservation at 11:45pm upon learning that we have a hypoallergenic service dog. If you’re looking for a place to stay, choose any of the other wonderful inns in the area. Monticello Inn is a dump and the staff is miserable.
Where do I begin??? The prices were outrageous and the room had a stale smell. The carpet was dirty and felt sticky in places. We came in late and left early and was told that it was the only room available for the price. Our neighbors next door came in an hour before us and paid $99.00 and were told the same thing but because they had dogs they paid extra. We have never had to pay extra for our pets before.. One of the women that worked the front office went around looking in all the windows which made me very uncomfortable. The only positive thing I have to say is the young woman cleaning the rooms the next morning was incredibly polite and helpful. My family will not be staying here again. Price gouging at its best. I should have booked online. No matter we ill find some place else next time. Don't stay here!!
The room was very quiet! Loved parking steps from the door for loading and unloading. The ice maker was super easy to find with the sign on the door seen from everywhere. The room darkening shades were perfect and there was a cute dinner table with a chandelier along with a desk that really made it feel like home. You can bring your pet! So nice and easy and I’ve stayed at a few motels. Very safe and quaint.
Very Nice. A.c. was wonderful to help cool us after a long hot day. Bed was firm. Past out fast slept all night
We stayed four nights and possibly might return again if a better place is not available. (see deal breaker below). The staff were very nice, rooms are clean. Probably lowest prices in town. Rooms have a TV, microwave oven, and a mini fridge. This inn was probably built in the 40's or 50's so some needed updates are probably not possible. Rooms were cold at night. I would have given a higher score except for the sporadic water temperature changes. The water going colder was not too bad but the sudden scalding hot water that would occur more than once during showering, made it miserable. I highly recommend to the owners of this inn that if you can't fix the sudden scalding hot water problem, that you at least turn the maximum temperature down to a temperature that won't burn skin. If this issue is taken care of, I would gladly return again.
