Martin Luther King, Jr. Monument Park
What people are saying
Very nice, but very small display. Unless you're tracing MLK Jr.'s life or just happen to be in Dublin, going out of your way for this is probably not wise. Having said that, the murals were very nice and the history of the site was special.
Excellent memorial. Interactive, beautiful. There are no restrooms, no playground, etc., but this is just a quick-stop sort of place. There are a few benches to sit down on. There's a series of recordings with a push-button speaker you can listen to. It's lovely. We visit every year on MLK Day.
It is hard to believe that this is where it all started for Martin Luther King Jr. right here in Dublin, GA. Don't pass up a chance to come here and listen to the audio recordings. Beautiful murals. The best time to visit is perhaps late in the evening as the sun is setting. Very little traffic and this gives one a great opportunity to reflect on the Black Movement, and to get a better perspective what struggles they went through during the 60's. Parking across the street is your best option.
Great place to learn a little bit more about MLK and reflect on his legacy. Small, but impactful place.
This is qreat for a quick stop, there is a box that will give you an audio tour and the mural is lovely and if you're traveling I-16 this is worth the stop!!!
