I adopted my dog Oscar from here towards the end of the pandemic. Everyone at the shelter has been really nice and professional. He's a great dog and is a social butterfly. Just needed a little training so I put him in obedience training when he was still a pup. Now my pooch is real well behaved and he's got more friends in the neighborhood than I do probably. lol I still take Oscar by the Humane Society every now and then to get his nails trimmed. If anyone wants to adopt a pup or kitten or needs to bring by an animal in distress I definitely recommend Madison County Humane Society on Crystal Street. I couldn't have asked for a better experience really. :)

The animals are very well maintained here,staff has great customer service,and they even accept donations! I just adopted my amazing baby,Mimosa. He is really loving and calm. I highly recommend adopting here,you might be able to take home a sweet angel like I did!

It shouldn't cost money to adopt. I put in my application for Cooper over a week ago and I still haven't got a response. While he's locked in a crate. If they dont get them adopted then they euthanize them...instead of giving them to a good home. Smh.

According to your web site, today Sept 8, 2022 Thurs suppose to be open ‘til 6:30PM. I got there around 6PM and closed. I drove about 45 min to get there.

This is a great place to adopt. They make sure the animal is going to a good home. So if you are wanting to walk in and walk out with a pet this isn't the place. If you would like to actually go through a good process of adoption then this is the place for you. People are so nice and truly love their jobs! We got butterball! He is such a great dog and is such a cutie! Thanks again!
