Hometown Inn
What people are saying
Where do I start? We get there and the place is run down and there’s Mexican families all standing outside. I told my wife if the rooms are like the outside we will leave. I check us in and we goto room 8 then we had to swap for room 6. There were stains on the sheets and the room stunk to high heavens! Room 6 was not too bad outdated, the beds slept like you would on plywood, the room was pretty clean.the shower pressure was great. Around 9-10 the same Mexican families were standing around outside making all kinds of racket which was very annoying. This place could really be something with a face update and parking lot update and some rules set for quiet time. And most of all a designated smoking area, if someone went around and gathered up the butts there would be enough to build a statue. Despite the downsides for what we paid it’s worth it for a place to sleep, if we were staying more than a day I wouldn’t have stayed. I’m all for a good cookout or hanging out with family outside but alot of these guys didn’t sit right with me. They wouldn’t stop staring at me and my wife especially.
This hotel is disgusting it is the grossest place that I've ever stayed at it is made to look like a normal hotel but they have hourly rates and they don't clean the rooms I found very unpleasant stuff left in the room when I got there
I was a bit apprehensive about staying at the Hometown Inn in Galion, Ohio but was pleasantly surprised. No it's not the Hilton but it is everything you would want in a reasonable, comfortable and clean place to stay. I have definitely stayed in worse and paid more. An added bonus to the value is the lower taxes in comparison to areas east and west on U.S. 30. My room was clean and we'll equipped for an extended stay. The firm king bed and fluffy pillows provided for very restful nights. Some of the wood on the furnishings showed wear but the upholstery showed no wear or stains. The carpet was in great shape and clean. The bathroom area tile was new and so was the sink and counter. WiFi was as good as any and the TV was large and had a good selection of cable channels. The owner was friendly and helpful. I saw absolutely no bugs during my extended stay and weeks later have no evidence that any existed.
Affordable and best place in the town. Friendly staff and amenities are next door (Galion West Plaza).
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this place. We're huge "bug-aphobe" & I'm skeptical of any motel/hotel regardless of how cheap or expensive. I always search the room top to bottom for bugs before I commit to staying. This place was 100% bug free. It was very clean! The room has a mini fridge, microwave, an older box t.v., a coffee pot, and of course bed/shower/vanity area. The only 'negative' things I can say is the rooms could use fresh paint and new bedding (sheets, blankets, etc). We had the smoking room and our blanket had some stains and burn holes. The carpet could use some deep cleaning. Other than that it was a decent place. I'd definitely come back here for a night away again.
