Holiday Inn Harrisburg East, an IHG Hotel
What people are saying
We stayed here for 1 night in a suite as we were 6 people. The free buffet breakfast was outstanding. There was bread, cereal, grits, yogurt, scrambled eggs, sausage, tea, coffee etc. There was ice vending machine and 24x7 tea/coffee. I also remember having a fridge and microwave in the room. The holiday express is right on an I76 exit. Would love to come again.
Absolutely the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had! We called and made a reservation for a room with a king size bed, once we arrived they had no rooms with a king bed, no biggie, we accepted a room with 2 queen size beds. After waiting in the lobby for 15 more minutes the counter person stated they had no more rooms available. (All this was happening at 1am after driving for 11 hours). The counter person then proceeded to leave the lobby for 20 minutes leaving myself and two other couples standing there wondering what was going on. He finally returned, handed me a room key and said he found a room. I proceeded to the room eager to get some sleep just to walk in and find that the room was still dirty from the previous guest. Beds were unmade, bathroom was disgusting, and garbage all over the floor. I turned around, went back to the lobby and asked the counter person what was going on, he said “that’s all i have, either you take it or you can leave” so I booked a room at the closest hotel. This was a terrible experience and do not recommend this hotel at all.
We stayed at this hotel for a lacrosse tournament. We arrived at 1030 pm and they didn't even have our room ready. Was told they were still cleaning the room. We weren't in our room until after 11 pm.. Used the restroom in the lobby and the garbage was overflowing and water was overflowing from the urinals. Top off before getting to our room only one elevator worked which bounced every floor. After finally getting to our room there was drink rings on the night stand. The shower floor was broken and was poorly repaired. The door to the bathroom was damage and splinters on the floor. Paint was peeling off the wall in the bathroom because no fan. Had to go get towels for our room and instead of taking the elevator we used the stairs only to be locked in the stairwell because the doors were locked on every floor. If I could have stayed somewhere else I would have. Definitely not staying at this hotel ever again.
Don’t stay at this hotel. It is outdated, run down and filthy. The pool is disgusting and has filth floating on top of the water and debris on the bottom. When I pulled back the bed sheets on the bed , I found spots of (suspected) blood. When someone brought new linens to the room some guy wearing gym shorts and a green t-shirt, hopefully he was an employee, brought them in the room and set them down on the bed. He didn’t say a word and turned around and walked out of the room. My wife and I had to change the linens ourselves. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Will never come back and you shouldn’t either. And we still have another night here in this dump!!!!
I didn't stay here, I just dropped my son off who was staying there for 1 night before heading to Parris Island. I went into the main doors to locate the bathroom, and the lobby area was very nice. There was a bar area and places to sit and watch TV. This particular Holiday Inn was busier than most that I have been to, I believe, due to the military recruits staying there.
