Beware of this hotel! Not worth the value you spend, and poorly operated. Hallway’s, Elevator, and my room smelled like cigarette smoke. I was in a large king suite with one a/c unit in living area, bedroom took into the night to cool down. Toilet in bathroom had running water, and you had to lift the tank lid to flush. I even informed front desk upon check in, and nothing was done. Breakfast was a joke, and honestly the worst I’ve ever seen in an Express. Eggs and Bacon over cooked and browning fruit. Upon check out the red hair lady must have had a bad night, rude and unprofessional. No good morning or thank you for your business. I don’t recommend this hotel, of course if you are a smoker then this hotel is for you!
The wife and stayed the night at this location on a trip to Kansas from Austin and and back. Both stays were unacceptable as the place is operated by ineptitude. On the trip north, we arrived at 5:15 pm and the lobby was full of people due to none of the rooms were cleaned. I was told that the elevator was broken and that they had only one housekeeper (not my problem). After that, the elevator broke again just as I was standing there with a cart loaded with luggage, which included two full coolers. I had to carry everything up to the third floor, and as very much a senior, it was a big chore. The room had no alarm clock, the phone was inoperative, and we had to get our own towels. On our return trip a week later, the elevator was still broken. We had to call the front desk because the room directly above us had an out of control toddler that ran back and forth most of the night. It continued until 12:30 am. This is because nothing was done or the adult guests were disrespectful. Another clear indicator of poor management and/or ownership, the pool and hot tub have not been repaired for over two years. When we checked out, I expressed my dislike of the place and as an IHG member, I demanded a bunch of points.........which hasn't taken place yet. We're blacklisting this place and I am contacting IHG customer service.
Our room was very nice but the TV was very dated. Great bed but it was a little stuffy on the bedroom side of the room. We got the king suite with additional room suite and it only had one ac unit for both rooms that caused it to be warm on the bedroom side. Called ahead to make sure that pool was open and was told it was but when we got there they told us it wasn't and I must have talked to reservations and not them directly. At 9pm front desk called our room and informed me that we were being to loud for the people below us. Not kid friendly and breakfast was pretty gross.
We had made a reservation on a Monday, four days before our arrival, and got a confirmation number. Upon our arrival on Friday, we find out that "we are already checked in," because the front desk had given our reserved suite to someone else that had the same last name as we did!!!! Apparently staff did not bother checking ID's, names, confirmation numbers; apparently you can just show up and they will give you someone else's room! The staff said we had to make another reservation, and that they may not have a room for us! By now, we are pretty irritated. We get the room situation figured out that should never have happened in the first place. Aside from the idiotic room mishap, the pool being closed, and a train that blares through town in the wee hours waking you from your slumber, breakfast was okay and the beds were comfy. However, we will never stay here again! Staff needs to read confirmations and room reservations accordingly and accurately!!!!
Had a 2 night stay here on January 31st 2024. Stayed on the first floor at the very end of the hallway and not even 15 minutes into getting into my room there was an employee who entered my room without announcing or knocking at all. I was about to get in the shower and it was very unprofessional. Canceled my next night stay and went to the Hampton Inn next door. My coworker who stayed in the hotel also had the same issue with an employee walking into his room while occupied. Will never stay at holiday inn ever again. Hilton from now on!
