Goleta Beach Park
What people are saying
Had a joyous time on my birthday visiting this lovely beach. We went for a peaceful walk down the scenic landscape followed by a therapeutic exercise in balancing rocks and other found objects on a large upright log (seen in photo below) The distinct smell of the salty water brought back memories of time spent by the sea as a young boy and the enormity of the vast ocean brought about tender thoughts about how paradoxically infinitesimal a single life appears and the contradicting boundlessness of my single existence.
This is my favorite beach. I can bring my dog. The beach is level, so my sister, who is handicapped can easily walk to it over firm sand. Bathrooms are clean and easily accessible from the beach.
Nice park along the beach. Pretty calm but plenty of people out and about on a nice Saturday evening. Lots of free parking and some amazing views from the pier!
Much of the beach is still corded off due to the sewage contamination including access to the pier. There is a lot of driftwood on the beach after the storms. There are some lovely flowers growing after all the rains including some lovely local lupins.
It's sad to see it so torn up..... Came out to spread my mother's ashes at sea as this was where she used to hang out constantly.....the shoreline is a mess..... the ground is uneven and hard to get to the water line.....Our old favorite restaurant was shut down and half gone from previous storms and construction work was going on, hopefully to put it back together......but it'll always be a favorite place in our hearts...... There are restrooms easily accessible, easy parking but the lot is worn and tattered.....Saw lots of dogs and their owners. Still a nice spot to visit.
