D'Angelo Italian Market

Phenomenal environment!! The staff came around and asked my team and I how the food was, and were very pleased to hear how much we enjoyed it. All the pastas, sandwiches, drinks, pastries, etc. were all delicious. Highly recommend this spot for anyone in the Princeton area!!
Service was good, large selection of salads and Italian food. Prices are reasonable. The only reason I'm not give them 5 starts is because of my sandwich... I ask for sausage parmigiana Hero and the sausage taste good, but the bread was testing awful, old bread... also it was very messy, my wife ask for tortellini pesto salad and that one taste great! Seems the bread thy are using is for days before... I will give them another try and will see if they take in consideration this review!
I always liked their pizza, sandwiches, pasta, and deli dishes. Wish they had working wifi. Prices are high. Has student discount. Their vodka pasta is excellent. I think they have a lot more flavor than Olives. Their pizza is superior to Proof but inferior to Pizza Den if you want crispy NY style. Their sandwiches are far superior to Proof’s soggy mess, and higher quality than Hoagie, but sometimes you need a Hoagie calorie bomb. Today I had a custom sandwich with grilled chicken, mozzarella, balsamic, and roasted red peppers on a roll for $13. It was excellent, and I was delighted that the gentleman toasted the sandwich for me to melt the cheese. Normally, their sandwiches are cold and can be either hoagies, on a roll, or wrap. No paninis here. Look at the size of my Gnocchi for $13! These guys all speak Italian and are clearly from Italy. Not so at Olive’s.
A great old school Italian market in the heart of Princeton. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and was hit by all the wonderful food cooking inside. The menu was huge, and I wanted one of everything. I haven’t seen shrimp parmigiana hero on a menu since my days in NYC. So I had to order it. The guy behind the counter went to place the order and came back and told me they just ran out of shrimp, but if I waited 15, that would fry some more up for me. Yes, please!! It was just as I had remembered. Nice and fresh crispy shrimp, house-made mozzarella, and some great gravy. The missus went with classic prosciutto, fig, and Gorgonzola on a new roll. She enjoyed it and saved half for the next meal. If you are in the area or not even close, it’s worth the drive for a quality made hero.
I love this place. I’m from Princeton so I’ve had the pleasure of frequenting this market for a while. Supporting family owned small businesses is so important especially now. The food surpasses any nonsense you can get from chain places or large supermarkets. I worked at the old Triumph for years and came here at least once a week. They have something for everyone and the desserts are especially my favorite but everything is amazing. I highly suggest checking this place out if you’ve never been. I recently had the tiger sandwich I think it was called and it was out of this world. And the orzo salad is a top fave too. :) keep being awesome guys !!
