Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Marion, OH

Not sure what to give. I probably would have gave a 5, but I was overcharged. Check-in was smooth. Staff waa nice. Room was clean. The exhaust fan was bit noisy that I reported. Check-out was smooth until I checked my account and had an additional charge on my account. The front desk person stated it was for the second night, but I had already paid for the night when I checked in. I received a credit at check-out that is not in my account. I paid for 3 nights at Check-in, received credit for 1 night at Check-out, and was charged for 2 more nights hours after departing the hotel.
Country Inn & Suites, Marion, OH The suite badly needed updating: the cushions on the sofa bed were stained. There was a large stain in the carpet. The refrigerator was not cold though the thermostat was all the way up. There was a smell like dirty feet in the hallway just outside our room. We were assured that if we could not get the in-room TV to operate with Chromecast, desk personnel could help. When following instructions didn’t work, the person who answered at the desk said they couldn’t help. The smoke detector in the room looked like it had been pulled away from the ceiling. I have doubts it would work in an emergency. Noise from the highway was often distracting, especially at night before midnight.
Overall not a bad stay. The hotel can definitely use some sprucing up but not expecting much for the price. The room was adequately clean and large. TV, mini fridge, iron, etc nice extras. The breakfast was terrible, but again, you get what you pay for. The reconstituted eggs and potatoes were awful. The potatoes could go down with ketchup but the eggs were so bad I couldn't eat them. Eggs have to be really really bad for me not to be able to eat them. Mostly are sausages which were also not good but by far the best option. The "orange juice" is one of those water dispensers that squirts a hint of concentrated orange into it. Grabbed a bagel to see it that was ok and even that was stale. At least they have Philadelphia cream cheese pods available, and bananas. So if you need a decent room at a decent price and don't expect good food; this is your place.
Convenient location to freeway is the ONLY positive. I am familiar with the area and was not expecting 4 stars but this was an exceptionally TERRIBLE room. Lingering smell from I don't know what, not smoke or closed up room. Maybe old vape? Side chair had peeling vinyl with stuffing showing, hook was missing from the back of the bathroom door, hairdryer was falling off the wall and worst of all...the refrigerator was not working and while it looked clean, it smelled awful! Think rotten meat. No one responded to complaints through their texting system. Desk clerk said manager would call...they DID NOT call. I will not stay there again and I will not recommend it for anything more than a place to lay your head and leave.
They gave away our handicapped room. My daughter has cerebral palsy and needed that room, not just someone wanting a bigger room. I checked in before 4 pm,less than an hour after check in. They said well we can give you a king handicapped room instead of 2 queens. I agreed as we were tired and had two rooms, plus it was too late to cancel. I was given keys to a room that hadn't been cleaned at all , Bed unmade towels on the floor. We were forced into two regular rooms. I will never come back here again.
