Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Brooklyn Center, MN
What people are saying
A dump. Giving it one star is too generous. The word.suite is a joke. None of the maids or help in the kitchen speak a word of English, not even understanding simple terms like milk or towel. Check-in was awful. The girl that checked us in was more interested in what the person next-door was doing then checking me in. The breakfast was terrible, once the food is eaten, nothing else is put out People are pigs and make a mess, no one cleans it up. I would ask for things like clean towels, they never showed up. Our keys would continuously quit working. Never never again! The only good thing about the place is it’s location. It’s a very nice area. The ceilings are so thin we could hear the person above us clomping back-and-forth continuously till after midnight.
Upgraded us when we got there from 2 Queens to a King Suite. They probably needed the extra bed but still a nice gesture. Everything was clean. Very friendly. Good breakfast.
We got two rooms here, went into both room when we got there and both rooms were still dirty, they do not clean underneath the beds, there were so many crumbs underneath her beds. The bathroom was disgusting, in the showers there was dirt all over the wall, the counters weren’t even clean, the mirrors have finger prints all over them, after I got out of the shower I was cleaning up the water with a “clean” towel (it was crunchy so I know it wasn’t clean) and the whole side I used to clean up the water was covered in dirt, clean the floors, the coffee pot was dirty with old coffee, the floors were not vacuumed. The hot tub was broken when we got there, not there fault but that was the whole reason we stayed, with the state of the rooms (we had three different rooms, and one was on a whole different floor and they were all the same) and the hot tub we would have just drove home.
This was the worst hotel stay I have had in years, even through COVID my stay was not as bad as this. The staff were the rudest and most disrespectful persons I had the misfortune to come by. The hotel was not clean. The beds are hard. The pillows had absolutely no support. Even with this unpleasantness, the staff outdid the accommodations by far. The night staff that checked us in never stopped coughing, did not cover her mouth, and proceeded to spray us with droplets from her respiratory system. The staff person in the morning was the most viscous front desk staff I have ever encountered. She was no where to be found when I went to the car to load our suitcases at 8:45 am. When I tried to go back into the hotel the door was locked. There was sign on the side wall that stated the doors would be locked during the day and to bring your room key. I had not seen the sign earlier. I could clearly see the front desk from the glass front door, there was no one around. I waited 5-6 minutes, still no one so I called the number on the sign per the signage instruction. A woman answered said "yeah...what do you need?" I stated my dilemma of getting locked out when I brought my suitcases to my vehicle. She hung up on me upon hearing this. A few minutes later she wandered up behind me with a lite cigarette in her hand, pointed to the sign, stating "Did you read the sign, read this, what does it say... BRING YOUR KEY, YOU CAN'T READ?" I apologized stating I did not see the sign prior trying to come back in. She simply puffed out a loud sign and walked through the door. I grabbed the door quickly before it slammed in my face and walked inside the hotel. She had already disappeared somewhere behind the wall and was out of sight. Needless to say the next time I go to Minneapolis to visit my daughter, I will NOT stay at the Country Inn and Suites. I will be back at the Embassy Suites, which always has top notch service and appreciates my business. I would be hard pressed to ever stay at a Country Inn and Suites again anywhere. If you want to enjoy your time visiting Minneapolis, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
This hotel off 694 is THE most disgusting place I've ever been. The rooms are fine, I guess. But the pool/hot tub are SO GROSS. There's not enough chlorine in the world to make it a safe place to enjoy. Do yourselves a favor...stay somewhere else!!
