Comix Revolution
What people are saying
I special ordered a comic and the owner made it clear if I lost the receipt I would not be able to pick up my purchase. No big deal. A week later I had a call that my comic arrived. Awesome I go to get it and the owner says he never placed a call or let alone even took my payment. Ok so I grab my receipt with the store info showing it's paid for and ordered. Played the voicemail saying that my comic arrived. The owner said no sorry we never ordered it. At this point I could see my comic behind him in an area with a sign that says "special orders". Another associate came from a comic book rack and grabbed the book and said sorry and gave me my order no problem. She was clearly embarrassed and to be honest I was too. I love the comic book culture going to the store and finding something cool. But the owner is a complete tool. I promise you can find it on Amazon. Don't stop here.
If the staff wasn't such a bummer to deal with I would go back. They have vintage comics I'm into but it's not worth it. Guy at the counter... Vibe is off... He's off by the presence of humans.
Not worth a visit, except maybe for weekly comic pick-ups. They no longer have a good selection. (I saw pictures of a great selection, but if you look closer you’ll see all of those pictures are several years old.) I was able to look at everything in the store in less than ten minutes. There are also lots of things on the shelves that are sun-faded, and they weren’t at a discounted price. The worker barely said anything and seemed annoyed that we were there.
What I find to be truly impressive about this particular location is in its thoroughness and cleanliness. Most comic stores share a similar sense of controlled chaos, with crowded shelves of well-thumbed comics and bins of aged single-issues trying the maximize space, but squashing displays together in a tight space so you cannot remember where that favorite issue of Daredevil was. While there are these elements here there is also a care for order I do not normally see at any comic store. An intent to maintain the beautiful nature of the merchandise and present it in such a manner to inspire awe and reverence, space to breath. There is not much to say about the building itself, it is a strip mall like many, but with space enough to allow for presentation. I am an avid collector and understand the overhead required for any store front, but I truly appreciated the care that went into the display of omnibuses and collectibles. Not to mention they are are professional in understanding the value of their products. I found a beautiful hardcover copy of "Age of Apocalypse" that would rival ANYTHING online in price or quality. With great, accessible parking, and convenient hours (even on weekends) I can definitely recommend this location for any serious comic collector. Where I might draw a small umbrage is that this is a location where you should expect to browse in silence. I noticed there was not a warmth of commentary that you might expect for people sharing a passion for comics. Rather the air is of nearly religious silence. I personally like to chat about just how strong Hulk is, or wax philosophical about the Punisher, but if you are seeking deep conversation this might not be the location for you. Despite a half dozen visits I found the atmosphere here to be more a museum than a spot for passionate comic conversation.
Dude is a rude troll. Spend your money at someplace you are appreciated as a customer. Comix Revolution is not it. I don’t recall the last time a store owner made me feel so uncomfortable. Just keep driving.
