Beautiful place and so nice I was saddened that I was the only one there. Looks like an amazing place to camp. The rates for sure are reasonable. I was there and no bathrooms were open. But so much to do here. Barbecue pits, pet areas, lake access, picnic areas, camp sites, water, plenty of parking, a wonderful kids play park, recycling etc.

I had heard that Banks Lake is one of the best walleye fishing in the country. That was all I needed to hear. Banks Lake was a five hour drive from my home in Missoula, Montana. Out of state fishing licenses are readily available in Washington, by the day or the season. The weather for our two day walleye adventure was mostly rainy, but the sun did sneak out to highlight the most rugged country that surrounded the lake ... almost prehistoric came to mind. Wild flowers were a riotous pallette of color in the hills. We jigged in choppy waters and the bite was slow. We did not limit out but did catch a few nice walleye, and then crossed to the opposite shore and landed some good sized bass. We had the lake to ourselves that day, and while the fishing was slightly better than average, the location and experience was worth five stars. I plan to return some day.

Late review. The lake felt endless & reflected such beautiful colors. It was chilly with a temp of 25F in December which felt like 15F. It was a 40 mile drive to the Coulee Dam which felt like we were driving the 101 along the famous Pacific coast. Central Washington’s brown definitely is a great contrast with rich sky & water colors.
