Americas Best Value Inn Pittsburgh Airport
What people are saying
When you pull up and look at the place and the surroundings you’ll realize that you’ve made a mistake. An old run down building. The lobby was 82 degrees with a fan blowing an odor that is indescribable. I quickly checked the return policy and realized I wasn’t able to cancel the room. We checked in and scattered to find our rooms, terrified at what we would find. As you enter the room the same smell hits your nose. It’s like an old wet couch at a nursing home or something. There’s no getting used to it. Never. We crashed because we were exhausted and it was late. We had early flights and needed sleep. For the next 4 hours I fell in and out of consciousness and had nightmares of being in a prison camp. The people running up and down the halls at night. The motor cycles racing outside. The odor. Oh God the smell! I wanted to die. The alarm went off and we quickly rushed out of the room as if there was some sort of punishment coming. Needless to say we’ll never return. You’ve been warned!!!
Disgusting. Took forever for someone to come check us in to begin with. It smelled bad, the lobby was so freaking hot and muggy too. The blankets and room was dirty. People were sketchy and yelling things in the hallway. Then we went to leave and the employee asked my boyfriend to give him less cash and he won't charge the card for the full amount. After my boyfriend told him no, he asked for even LESS cash. Sounded like a scam to us, so we said no and left.
I only liked the location bec it is close to the airport and some restaurants, and that they have an a/c and fridge, but I don't like the service here. The service of the receptionist was too slow. Took me a good 20 mins before I got checked in, and there was only 1 guy in front of me. When I went to my room, it smelled like someone had smoked there even though I booked a non-smoking room. There were cigarette burn marks on the bed blanket. It felt like they didn't vacuum the floor too bec there were food crumbs on the floor. There was a big insect that I have never seen in my life. I went down to ask for help to kill it for me. There was no line at all, and the receptionist was just Facetiming his friend. He said he will come up to help me kill it but he didn't come up till 30 mins later. By then, I had already killed the insect myself. He apologized and told me there were a lot of people downstairs but it was literally just him in the lobby when I went down to ask for help. He probably was finishing up with his FaceTime, but I didn't like the lack of professionalism bec back home, people working in the hospitality industry never gave that kind of service. The price was ok for one night. I don't recommend this place at all, unless you don't mind all of that just to get a cheap price. Will never come back here again.
I don’t even know where to begin. My boyfriend and I were traveling and needed a quick stay. Upon checking in the lady was miserable to deal with and filled with attitude which already set off alarm bells. Just to only find out that would’ve been the least of our worries. There’s burn marks, random stains and hair in the bedding, the room REAKS of the most foul odor, the room floor looks like it hasn’t even come across a vacuum. I am in AWE with how this place is still open. Convenient to be so close to the airport yes but for this? Never again. I am utterly disgusted.
Do not stay here. We had a very traumatic experience and the manager was very rude about it. Walked out of our hotel room to an actual crime scene. Dead body with a sheet over top, dozens of cops searching frantically through the dumpsters and grass. Tried to get any kind of information on whether or not we should feel safe to continue our stay, as we had our 2 year old with us. Manager shrugged us off. So we ended up checking out and leaving our trip early. They are also very stingy on how many towels they give you. We were only allowed 2 standard towels at a time. Which was kind of difficult to make sure all of us could shower, since it was 2 adults and our young toddler. The lamps didn’t have any light bulbs, our TV didn’t work, and only one of the outlets would work. Didn’t raise any concerns since it didn’t bother us much as we weren’t in the room much but check those if you stay here. If you can handle possibly walking out to a crime scene, this place is right for you. It’s very cheap and it shows.
