Today I attempted to return an unused scarf still in orginal packaging. Unfortunately, since I didn't have the receipt I was unable to complete the return. Since I had more shopping to do I asked the employee if I could leave it at the counter and return when I was done checking out. After I checked out I returned to the customer service center where the line was significantly longer but I waited patiently. When I made it to the desk the employee I spoke to earlier was no longer there. I explained the situation to the employee currently working the counter. After my explanation they asked to see my receipt. I emphasized I was unable to return the item because I do not have a receipt. Then the employee sent me on a guessing game asking who did I speak to earlier. The employee said she will try to find them to verify. Instead of focusing on actual threats or suspicious behavior, security personnel choose to target individuals based on outdated prejudices and preconceived notions. It is appalling that in this day and age, people of color are still being subjected to suspicion and scrutiny simply for existing in a predominantly white space. The relentless questioning and overall lack of respect shown towards non-white customers during the average shopping trip is not only dehumanizing but also perpetuates harmful stereotypes and biases.

Very convenient for students, especially those who may not have a car as it is within walking distance. Very polite and friendly people there, especially Ashanti, his attitude and friendly demeanor is above and beyond anything I’d expect!
