This is the better bar in town because you won't see people getting into fights like you do at the other downtown bars. It's more laid back, no cover, pool tables and shuffleboard. They have karaoke nights. They have a jukebox. Unfortunately, if the bartender doesn't like what you paid to play, they will turn the music down. Then when something comes on they like, it's back up. Infuriating considering it's not cheap to play, and when you have the biggest group of people there spending money, they should probably cater to your needs.
The bar is a great bar except for Bailey. She is a hateful bartender and refuses service if someone hurts her feelings. This is after you witness her being rude to customers. She won't serve you unless you go above and beyond with tips, she will ignore people that intend to tip at the end of the night. ( if she doesn't see any tip right then she will walk past you and claim she isnt serving only picking up empty bottles )They are supposed to split tips but I have seen her pocket tips before. She is a horrible person and a horrible person to have wait on you. Save yourself the trouble and find another bar until they get rid of her. Baily is gone and it's a great bar again
Excellent time I spent with my daughter Melody! Went to a drink-n-paint thing,and had a blast! If you're in the area check an see if there is one being hosted....you won't regret it in no means.
These reviews are accurate however, as an OIF vet with pulmonary issues the smoke in there is so thick I couldn’t stand it and had to leave. The entire canteen is a smoking area and if you have the same issues I do I would suggest finding another place to visit.
VFW is always a fun place to go! You can shoot some pool, karaoke, even play shuffle board! The crowd is usually laid back and down to earth.
