This store has everything you need for moving, packing supplies/tools, long term dry storage, tools, propane gas, and just about any size moving vehicle you can imagine. BUT, WHAT TOTALLY MAKES THIS STORE..is this black lady whom works with customers, and is friendly, listens to her customers, is smart, fast, and efficient. She has served me at least 5 times over the past 3 years, and every time she gets me in and out of the store quickly, with “just” what I need, and no more. I’m an older white guy, but it’s apparent that this Gal works hard, but CARES about ALL the customers walking into her store. She’s got a great attitude, and I wish her the best.
I booked a rental truck and 2 dollys from this location. I checked in the previous day and asked if the truck and the equipment is in place. The woman flat out lied to my face and said it is in place. We only had the truck and no dollys at 7 AM. Upon calling U haul they told us that the dollys were automatically dropped from the reservation since they did not have any dollys left. i wish the woman was honest about the situation the previous evening and we could have looked for alternate arrangements!
False advertisement and unhelpful staff. Made my reservation 2 weeks in advance. While completing reservation online, it offered one month free self storage. I setup the reservation for the one month free storage unit. After driving 12+ hours I arrive at the Carrollton branch to be told they would honor the reservation. I then called the Addison location and was told the same thing. Neither of the ladies I spoke with even attempted to help me resolve the issue despite the fact I printed out the reservation. Was on the phone for 20 min and still no representative or assistant. Customer service was poor its not their fault about what's online but neither of the ladies tried to help me.
I usually give an establishment a few chances before leaving a 1 star review,, but this place has repeatedly let me down. I was leaving town and needed to pick up a trailer after work (around 4pm) When i got there, the front desk receptionist hadnt let us know the pickup location had changed, so i made the drive in the opposite direction for nothing. She was so chatty with her coworkers about the weather, instead of pulling up my account to tell me the new pickup location and said the new location was about 35-40 minutes in the opposite direction.... this was already around 4:20pm...so I said "what if they're closed by the time I get there? I need to leave town tonight" she said to just call and tell them I'd be late... (that was all the effort she put in) Then went back to being chatty.. so I called... it was a call center, and nobody could help me. After 3 transfers, a woman named Karen answered and wouldn't let me finish a sentence. She also said that it basically wasn't her problem because she was a call center rep and couldn't do anything. I told her about the time dilemma, and if they could let us pick up the trailer when we arrived at 5:02pm (per GPS) She interrupted me and said if I "got there at 5:01pm they'd be closed, and to just get it in the morning.." (after I already told her I was leaving town tonight) She was rude, and interrupted me many times and i wish I could have reported her, but she actually ended up hanging up on me of course. The call was recorded on my end, so if there's a way to report her behavior, I absolutely will.
