Worst U-haul location i ever been to! They double charged my credit card for one truck i rented from them. Went in store for explanation,1st guy said ''oh yea lot of customers are having the same issue, manager will be here the next day. Went in the next day, other lady staff said manager went for vacation and he will give you a call back. It's been a month now no call from him. Went in store on and off to see if the manager is there ,still no trace of him. Different lady staff said he had to take care of some stuffs he has not showed up to work. BE CAREFUL RENTING FROM THEM ,YOU MIGHT WAKE UP TO A NEGATIVE BALANCE ON YOU ACCOUNT. I've been using U-HAUL services for over 5 years now in many states and i would never imagine such well known company would let them steal from customer.
I did not have any issues at all that would have needed improvement. The two gentlemen that helped me when I got there and when I returned did a wonderful job. I was very happy with my experience. Thank you!
Would give 0 if I could. Reserved my truck a week in advance. Got a call 2 days before I was supposed to get the truck saying someone extended their rental and there is no longer one available till later in the day. I couldn’t get it later as I needed to be out of my apt by 10 AM. Said there was one in Marshalltown. How does my reservation get overridden because someone was unprepared. Offered little to no help on payment relief even though it was them who screwed me over. Had to fight tooth and nail to keep the same price I had originally. Got told “that’s life” by whoever was on the phone. This place sucks.
Booked a “reservation” for a 20ft truck a month before leaving and then two days before the move they call to say no truck here you have to drive an hr away to get it. What choice do I have? They will tell you to try calling their compensation line. Well I figured I could at least get compensated the mileage for driving that hour but nope. The compensation line will just rudely tell you that you get nothing. I will never be using uhaul again. Over 700$ spent on a truck and gas.
Never was told I should do a pre-check. Didn't see the text until after I had driven to my destination. The Gas was lower than my contract said, again, did not realize that until after I was gone too. My truck was terrible - The windshield seal fell off on the driver side and would hang and flap in the wind, we tried to reattach, but it would just come out when we went on the interstate. Also, BIG ISSUE, every time we were going above 50mph, and hit the brakes, the engine would rev up but the truck would slow as its supposed to. It was scary, not sure why the truck would rev to 6 or 7 when slowing down, but it did it every time when braking from a higher speed. I told the gentlemen that when we returned the truck and he was not very nice about it but did say he was putting the truck in for service which made me feel better no one else would go through our experience. I called and also told the agent these items but it seemed there was nothing we could do besides offer us an extra day. I also asked for a receipt, was told it would be emailed to me and I still have not seen it either. This was a Terrible uhaul experience, I am very disappointed. I have uhaul before, not sure I will be again.
