Rooms are spacious and great for longer family stays. There isn't much nearby, but Door Dash to the rescue. They have BBQ supplies, rice cookers and board games available to borrow at the front desk. The fitness center looked really great, didn't use it. Lobby snack selection was decent. Pool is tiny, no frills and next to the freeway AND the Exxon Pipeline service station so it's NOISY. Tried to call the front desk for towels and no one ever answered. When we were there, the night crew is not engaged, day crew are very nice. I didn't hear the noise in the room, though. Breakfast was the usual hot hotel fare.
I had reserved a room here for March 21 because my daughter and I were coming to Waco for a play. We arrived and checked in to our room, put down our bags and had to leave to get dinner and get to the show on time. I should have looked at the room more closely. The man working the front desk was very nice. The hotel is in a convenient location next to the highway, but that meant a lot of truckers and what appeared to be single men were there. We returned to the room and that's when I noticed it had not been cleaned. The beds were made, but there was no mattress cover on one of them and there was hair in the bed. There was trash on the floor in the bathroom, the toilet was dirty, and the towels looked like they had been used. There was trash on the floor by the door. The dishwasher had been used and was full of dishes. There was still food in the fridge and freezer. Since it was a short drive home, we decided to just take our stuff and leave. The man at the desk was nice, but didn't ask why we were leaving early. I know there isn't an option for a refund since we technically put our stuff in the room, but it's not like it had been cleaned already anyway. Really disappointed for the price we paid. I wasn't expecting fancy, but I did at least expect it to be clean.
This is my review for a family trip June 2024 at the TownePlace Suites Waco NE: PRO: + Easy access to restaurants and shopping. + Breakfast was yummy! CON: - Going to the room smelled like cigarette smoke in the hallway. Let the front desk know, but nothing was done. - Room looked beat up. Appears that the hotel might had bought this hotel, "remodeled", and updated the flag to Marriott. Cracks everywhere, windows dirty, and overall just didn't look well kept. Their soap dispensers in the shower were poorly placed, and one kept coming off. - Avoid staying on the Atwood side of the building. Woke up multiple times due to stuff falling down in their parking lot in the morning when they were likely loading/unloading. - Pool looked pretty beat up. Not sure if that was because of a recent storm, but pool had lots of bugs/plants in it. The outdoor shower handle was busted. Multiple chairs destroyed. One of the holding bins was opened with Round Up exposed. Overall: Didn't get a great night rest at this Marriott. Room was ok at best. If I plan to stay in Waco again, I will avoid this hotel. Might recommend them getting with Chip and Joanna Gaines to fix up their property.
I brought my grandchildren this past week for a time away! We were disappointed in the lack of breakfast. We travel a lot and by all means this was the worse experience for a breakfast. We arrived around 730 and there was nothing to choose from. There was no one managing the area to accommodate guest! This is definitely an area that needs improvement! We stayed 6/5/24 room 111
Always a pleasure staying here! Breakfast is always on time & the staff are really sweet. One of the last rooms me & the Mister stood in, there was a mini kitchen area, with a stove! I thought that was pretty cool!
