Towne Crier Steakhouse
What people are saying
Newly restored and renovated, we loved the grilled chicken, chicken strips and waffle cut sweet potato fries. The Deep Fried Twinkie was a surprising good dessert treat. Our waitress was very personable and attentive.
Lunch prices are ridiculous!!! Lunch no longer comes with a trip to the salad bar 2.99 extra. Lunch salad drink 16.75 .... Way to much... And the salad bar has half of the items that it had before. I was told they had to increase the prices to keep the doors open. I wont go back I would hate to see the dinner prices. I think customers are pretty important to keep the doors open!!!
Didn't get my water, I got my veggies way before my flat chicken fried steak. My cousin's chicken fried chicken was cold. The old Towne Crier was way better than this new one. Only good thing is the staff is very nice! Won't be coming here anymore and It was my 1st time since this new one opened.
Used to eat here a lot when I was younger and always got the salad bar with your meal. Now it cost $3 extra and you have to substitute your side on your plate for it. Salad bar was one of the best reasons to go there along with the good food that they had. They remodeled and though it looks nice I will not recommend going there as as you only get an entree and a side or for $3 extra a salad without a side.
Ate there a couple months ago and it wasn't any good. Though we would give it a try again tonight. The only thing good was our waitress. First either the air conditioning was turned off or it was out. It's June 9th in west Texas. That has to be fixed. Bye the time we were done we were sticking to the booth from sweating. My wife's chicken fried chicken was undercooked. Our sons chicken strips were cold and his french fries were still raw in the middle. The breading on my chicken fried steak tasted stale. The steak was good when I cut the breading off. The owner was setting across from us and not once came over to ask us how everything was or tell us why it was so hot. We had too pass her when we left so I figured she would ask how our meal was and I was going to tell her. Instead she told us "Thanks, love ya, love ya." We used to eat here all the time and the food was always great. Unfortunately this time will be our last.
