If I can give a zero star, I would. Reserved the car and a confirmation email, arrived at the counter, expecting a quick check in and out. But, we don’t have any car at the moment and we will put you on the waiting list and call in about 2 hours to see if there’s car available. It’s first come, first serve basis. The other aggravating thing is, did you booked it through third party? As if it’s booked directly from Thrifty, there will be car! The bottom line is if Thrifty accept third party booking, it should be honored! Now I have to go through the long arduous process disputing the changes with my credit card company! I sure hope this will be refunded!

I live beside DCA and rent cars frequently. Thrifty is the worst rental at this airport, they almost always over book and there is almost always a 2+ hour line when all the other rental companies have no line. I am very forgiving, but I've rented with Thrifty maybe 6 times over the last 3 years, and every time there has been a multiple hour wait for pickup. One time I waited 2+ hours for them to tell me they we out of cars and because I made the reservation in less than 24 hours there was nothing they could do. They are consistently bad and always over book their rentals every day, so avoid this company and pay a little more for another company. I will never rent with them again, I made the mistake far too many times.

The car reservation, pick up and drop off went smoothly. My only gripe is the toll pass, I didn't want to pay $21/day just to have it when one of the days I wouldn't be on any toll roads. Full coverage insurance is also pricey. Not sure how this compares to other rental companies especially when quite a few are connected.

Received several sms inviting me to check in online. Problem One, the links didn’t work, and I even received message that my reservation didn’t exit. Called customer service, who could not help on “technical issues”. Tried for several days, and finally succeeded in saving check in data. Then received a link to “ See your car now! Don’t wait, get in & drive.” HA! That link led to message “ Sorry your car is not yet ready, and message will be automatically updated in “15 minutes” HA!! If you go to another app while waiting, the counter actually stops! I repeated this Five times, including on line where One agent was available to deal with at least 10 people ahead of me. 75 minutes after I was supposed to be able to pick up my EV, I finally talk to a real agent and get into a car that is charged less than 25%. How come Hertz, in the next counter over, has three agents receiving customers? How come Thrifty has so many “technical issues” that it is not delivering on its advertised promises to customers? Renter beware of Thrifty, if you are thinking of renting a car from them.

While the team was extremely helpful in person when I checked in on July 6, outlining why coverage was needed, once I returned my car at JFK I found that my daily rental rate was 12x more than what I received confirmation for (I was told 36.99 a day and instead was charged 455.99 a day). I was not provided any phone number to get this addressed when I returned my car, and I have submitted an inquiry online to no response. Would strongly reconsider using Thrifty (even if it seems like the cheapest option).
