Was impressed with the scenery, but when we looked at the website, it said there's a bar and restaurant in the lodge. I booked the room for my wife's birthday and Valentine's day expecting to meet some new people and have a great time with my wife. After we checked in, my wife called the front desk to see when the bar would open. She was told that the bar was closed. Then she asked what time the restaurant would open and again was told that the restaurant was also closed. The pool table felt was torn and the ice machine had water sitting in it. We drove back into town and bought some gas station sandwiches, and stopped at the liquor store for some refreshments, then returned to the lodge. Our room was nice, but a little run down. The continental breakfast was what we expected. It's a beautiful set up, but I hope someone takes over and puts it back to the place it obviously used to be.
The website does not represent the actual hotel. The restaurant part is closed. The rooms are very loud, you can hear the next guest above and around you. The lighting in the bathroom is very room. The breakfast is not worth getting up for. The beds are old and hard, the rooms need a serious update. If you use an outlet beware once you a hit a switch it turns the outlet off. The discount I was given was not great. It took care of the tax and that was all.
A beautiful location in a grove of mature oak trees overlooking the river and parts of the golf course. Well off the highway so no road noise. Cozy lodge building complete with a huge stone fireplace. Not the most modern place but that's part of the ambiance. The rooms are large and the water is hot. Loved the place!
AVOID!! Dirty, unkept, deferred maintenance all over the property and in our room. Room was Very dark, no lighting and broken curtains that wouldn’t open. I was afraid to sleep in the bed! Customer service wasn’t rude but obtuse. Looked like it was a real nice place at one time, but no more.
A very reasonable price for the rooms they have. They are definitely outdated and could use some superficial work. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I believe they are planning on doing some work on the space in the future. Dont expect anything fancy, but the rooms will be clean and are very unique.
