I grew up in North Texas eating fried catfish regularly. I’ve had good, great, and pretty terrible catfish over the years and The Fish Place’s catfish ranks right up there with the better ones. Filets are a good size and the portions are generous. The cole slaw is a nice vinegar with white pepper. The fries were crisp and the hush puppies were well seasoned. This is definitely a return trip next time we’re in Red Bay for service on the motorhome. It seemed most of their business was take out, but we were there for an early supper. There are about 15 or so seats in the dining room distributed among 4 or 5 tables.

The fish is good! The chicken is even better! Very tasty, crispy and tender! We visited multiple times while in the Red Bay area.

Great fried fish, fries, hush puppies and slaw. Large portion sizes. Order at the window and have a seat until they call your name. They have a drive through window as well. Dining room is small, but still plenty of seating available.

We ordered the Smoked Chicken Spud plate and a side order of Smoked Chicken. It was excellent as usual. If you haven’t tried it you need to do so. You can thank me later. The sides of hushpuppies and slaw were terrific as well. Just the way I prefer them. The price was reasonable and service time was quick and accurate. Will be back soon!

Everything thing was overcooked to the point of almost burnt. We asked for our chicken livers to be lightly cooked...they were dry, dark and burnt. When I told the girl that they were burnt, she said she was sorry...she forgot to tell the cooks. Not willing to make it right and they had our money already...we ate what we could and left. We owned and ran a diner for 33 yrs. If a customer wasn't happy...we made it right! The people in this area are all so very nice which made it all the more so disappointing.
