Tamarindos
What people are saying
Tamarindos is a very cozy Mexican restaurant near Blue Bell. Our favorite meal is the whole snapper or sea bass topped with the delicious homemade garlic and lime sauce served with rice and beans. The fajitas are also good. The homemade salsa with chips is very good too and so are the free margaritas. The whole fried sea bass was $39. The owner is a very friendly guy and the service is excellent. If you are in a mood for an authentic Mexican food - Tamarindos is a good choice.
Please get the chicken quesadillas if you go here for dinner(you definitely should). They were absolutely gaseous. Made my taste buds tingle. Service was amazing for such a large group. Price was not bad at all. Server was an absolute goat. Highly recommend.
Recently went here on a Tuesday night with a group of friends. About 13 of us in total. Waiter (who I'm guessing from his behavior was at least the manager if not the owner), offered to bring us appetizers and also offered us margaritas. With the appetizers they brought out 3 sampler plates (we were spread across 3 connecting tables on their outdoor patio) - but they charged us full price for 3 orders of 5 appetizers. As for the margaritas, they literally charged us like $7.50 per person for a "service fee". I understand BYOBs can charge a fee for the "uncorking" but that's literally skipping around on the law. Will be reporting them to the beverage control board in PA. On top of that, food was decent but nothing amazing and not worth the price they charge for that either. I found out about this place from a friend of a friend who knew them when they were a hole in the wall type place years ago....either it was a scam back then and he didn't know it or success and a bigger location changed them. Shame.
Great food, very authentic, great service and atmosphere, and best of all you get a free margarita with your meal!!!
During a recent visit, the service was okay to good, as well as the atmosphere. The food was slightly above average to good (rice, beans and fish), but the price of a whole snapper is now more than $60. The free Margaritas took a bit of the sting out of the bizarrely high price for that snapping snapper. Ouch!!!
