Taco Bueno
What people are saying
Waited 20 minutes for food just for it all to be disgusting.. no even Luke warm, beans taste old.. only thing decent is the chips and hot sauce..which I might add was not in our box and I had to go ask for the sauce, when I did I was rudely told to get it myself from the salsa bar.. sad bueno has come to this. Here's a cute picture of our rice.... Lol foul
It's good food sometimes. Sometimes not. I don't understand why it takes so long to get an order. I have waited over 30 minutes. I like taco Bueno but they need to step it up
I went to Taco Bueno, on N Judge Ely Blvd, Abilene 79601, last Friday. They have a 3 item deal for $6. The food was great and the service was good. About 10 years ago, this Taco Bueno had new management and the food and service left alot to be desired. About 2/3 years ago, I think management changed again, and their food, cost for amount of food you get, improved and continues to improve every time I go. It's nearly back to when they first opened up here at this location. Glad they're going back to "the" good old days.
Reason for the low service rating is that the drive-thru people were very brusque with us. They had had a negative interaction with a customer before us, and it was clearly affecting their customer service. I don't think they were to blame though, only a Superman can have that kind of interaction and not be a little messed up. Also they no longer have the item I loved as a kid, the cinnamon chips. Not really a bad thing, but I just wanted to include it.
I always regret dining here. I want to have a good experience but I would need to be without eye sight for that to be possible. Food handling sanitation has been horrible here for about 10 years. I have seen employees come in from outside to the register take my order give me change back then go to making food. No washing hands no gloves. I had to tell the manager that was working on the food line that he needed to wash his hands. I have seen plenty of underwear with their pants below their butt. Most recently the manager was in the middle of making a burrito and grabbed her cell phone to answer a call and continued making the burrito.
