Let me save you the time, money, and headache! We drove 3hrs to come to a wedding. We are a family of 6, who after traveling and working all day were exhausted. We paid $200 for two rooms, not the most expensive but definitely not the cheapest so I hoped at minimum the rooms would be basically cleaned and cigarettes free. I immediately found an old gallon of milk in the fridge that had film growing but was trying to be understanding and just move on with the evening. Once we finally get everybody settled in I decided I wanted to treat myself to a bathroom break and thought a shower would be nice as well. To my dismay, I look down to find hair covering the floor, unclean tubs, and toilets instead. The receptionist came and took pictures and asked if I was wanting a refund. Being almost 11 at night I said yes I'm absolutely expecting a partial refund as this is unacceptable and it's too late to wake my 3yr old back up only for him to be screaming and wake up the other tenants, as well. I had not even been at the property for 2 hours at this point and was told "since I've already been here so long, a refund, even partial, isn't possible." The receptionist offered to come clean the rooms which again I'm too tired to wait around for as it should have already been done and a decent clean should take at minimum an hour and offered to put us in different rooms at the risk of again having a cranky toddler who will not willingly return to sleep and have to pack up 2 rooms and 6 people's belongings. I told them this treatment is ridiculous and that I shouldn't have to move my family around in the middle of the night hoping the next room isn't dirty either. Will NEVER STAY AT A BEST WESTERN OR ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES SUCH AS SURESTAY AGAIN. I was truly hopeful this would be a decent place and was planning to leave a great review but was tasked with this instead to warn others. I can only imagine what other corners are being cut. They must also own the La Quinta next door because when they called me, that's what the caller ID said.
They called us after we got settled, to make sure we had everything we needed! We stay in a lot of hotels, nobody ever did that! Everything is new. So very clean! $100 tax and all.. so it was perfect!
First of all, the entrance was very hard to find. There was a small sign at the turn in which was wasily missed from the street. We should have taken that as a clue to go elsewhere. The girl at rhe desk was very kind and even checked on us after we were in our room. There was no carpet in the room which was understandable. There were a half a dozen or more crickets in the room and little black bugs in the bathroom all over the floor, which we didn't notice until morning. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed ever. Its on a metal bade which sounded like someone was beating on an old tin can whenever one of us moved. The air unit sounded like someone was crinkling up plastic bags all night. There was a coffee pot but no coffee or cups. Bottom line, I can't believe Bestwestern has put their name on the sign. We were also surprised to see the doors were accessible to the outside. No interior rooms. This was the most uncomfortable room we have ever stayed in and this was the suite.
😞 This was the 4th Best Western we stayed at on our weekend getaway. It was disappointing. We checked in late, and the first thing we saw in our room was that the comforter on the bed had multiple stains. It was the same with the linens in the bathroom room. The washcloths & hand towels all had visible stains. After showers (shower was clean), it was very late and time to catch up on the news. We didn't have a remote for the TV 😞, so lights out and we both retired using pillows that you could see the stains through the pillow cases. In the morning, I had a hot breakfast and asked for a remote so we could watch the news before checkout. The remote I was given didn't work 😒. Overall, it was a poor experience in room 103 & I can't see myself staying there again with other options so close to one another.
