Super 8 by Wyndham Omaha Eppley Airport/Carter Lake
What people are saying
I have never seen a motel so awful in my life. We booked ahead of time for both our arrival night from the airport and for our return night before leaving to go home. It is really close to the airport, and because the flights to and from Maui arrive really late and leave really early, it is convenient to stay on the arrival night and the evening before the morning return trip. We were idiots, and after that first night, we should have canceled and found other lodging. It is an outhouse, to put it nicer than what I want to say. The first night we were met with broken lamps, missing light bulbs, dirty carpets and half used shampoo bottles. The door was missing all the inside hardware. The deadbolt worked, thankfully. There was no screen in the window and the curtain was hanging off to the side, it could be repositioned, but should we have to do that? On the trip home, the employee had to open the door for us, and it didn't even fully shut. Again, thankful we had the deadbolt. The carpets were still old and dirty, the bed had no top sheet, just a bedspread and a blanket and the fitted sheet. The bathroom mirror was smeared. There was old food in the microwave, which also no longer had the glass turntable. The fridge had brown leakage on every surface. What a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Wyndham should be ashamed to have their name attached to that place. I wish I would have taken more photos. We didn't say anything to any employees because they would obviously know how bad it is and don't care. The cost to stay there was one of the deciding factors and I know you get what you pay for, simple, small, no added frills is one thing, filthy is another.
Smoke Free My A$$!! (This place looks ghetto AF) My first red flag...it reeks of cigarette smoke. Its headache inducing..not looking great for the "smoke free" signs ALL over the place. Second red flag. The front desk guy went up to "check" my room with me because they claim its all "new" housekeeping. YIKES! I'm married to a former housekeeper, so I know all I need to check to know if my room is actually clean. My rooms REEKS of smoke. (There wasn't a smoke detector in my room, it was pulled out. Gotta wonder if there are any smoke detectors in this place) There are clear cigarette burn marks on the bathroom counter, and the bathtub. The bathtub is dirty and grimy. The carpet wasn't in great shape either. The bedsheets surprisingly didn't smell bad but they were stained....The AC filter..EW. I don't even know when they cleaned that last... The drawers...they have cigarette ash...just GROSS. Everything was DISGUSTING. This is THE WORST experience I've ever had. And I've stayed in plenty of cheap motels..but this...this place takes the cake for THE ABSOLUTE WORSE! It was only overnight to catch a very early flight... JUST AVOID THIS FREAKING PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. I should've left the second I got here... (If I could give 0 stars. I would.)
Avoid this place, it's a run-down disaster. Bums and who knows what's hanging around the building, trash and junk around the building. Room was disgusting, hair in the shower, bathroom floor was slimy with hairs on it, and I think it was a bloody fingerprint on an end table. In-room fridge had rotten food in it, no idea how old it was. Outlets were all loose, A/C was super dirty but worked to cool the room. Constant noise all night long, screaming kids running up and down the hallways. The only thing that was nice about the place was the airport shuttle, it was a new van with a friendly driver.
Terrible motel. Seedy, dirty, rude staff. Reserved room for 5 through expedia. Room booked with 2 queen beds and separate sitting area to sleep 1 more (on hideaway bed). We called motel directly to confirm this. Told that the room we booked is what we will get. Arrived to a very dated, musty, small room that would barely sleep 4. No room for a hideaway bed, which the motel doesn’t even have. Met with “I don’t know what to tell you” and “guess you should go somewhere else” by front desk boy. Really sad experience. The worst part was the poor attitude of the staff, I’ve never experienced anyone in hospitality with so much apathy towards a situation. I would recommend to stay anywhere else.
Owners/manager needs to hire cleaning crew. The inside common area is filthy. Room at a glance is pretty decent however, the longer you look the more dirt you see. AC was available but Ptac was pre set at low speed so no adjusting for comfort. Staff was professional/pleasant. Nothing within a quick walk for food except the Casey's quick stop. The place has potential just needs a serious cleaning!
