Steamboat Wharf Pizza

DON’T GET RIPPED OFF! I walked in for two take out pizzas… charged $156.86 on credit card large cheese pizza? $28.00 toppings? $3.75 2x 3 topping pizzas? = $78.50 AUTOGRATUITY added without asking? $30 brings the total to… $108.81… food tax in Massachusetts is 6.25% - so why was i charged $48.05 for what? food tax???? I asked for a printed receipt because this food was for work purposes to feed my crew. apparently the employee said she couldn’t print the original receipt. So i asked for a written itemized receipt… Still can’t figure out why I paid $30 tip for takeout pizza… and $48 for food tax? no one could explain it to me. After I waited for the pizza and received it, walked all the way back… i open the pizzas just to see one of them has ONE TOPPING, spinach, with no white/ranch sauce, and the other pizza has NO MEAT on it… so i’ve paid for 3 toppings on each, and received a total of 3 toppings only on both pies. Canned mushrooms, canned pineapples… I will say the employees were kind, and nice. I don’t think they were involved with this ‘scam.’ They were just doing their job. When I got home and realized the toppings were left I called; and they said they would re-make a meat lovers pizza to make up for the missing toppings… So I walked back. I want to know why I was charged $156 for two pizzas… that should have cost closer to $80. The employees kept saying because I used a credit card… overall the pizza was mediocre at best. If the owner of this restaurant wants to make things right - feel free to contact me. If not - I wouldn’t expect repeat customers.
Complete Rip Off, Mediocre pizza at best. They charged a $30 auto gratuity and we picked up the pizzas to go !!! $150+ for 2 pizzas, NO REFUNDS. Avoid this place.
Way too expensive for the basic pizza you get. Waste of time and money
No frills pizza spot but this is the closest to "NYC style" pizza on the island. Cash only if you go in person but you can pay via cc if you order for pick up online. Toppings are expensive and aren't the best quality (ex. canned mushrooms) but that won't stop me from ordering a plain pizza when the craving hits.
Their pizza was so yummy, thin and a little crisp... really delicious. I don’t know why they have such a low rating. I also eat a lot of pizza in New York City. So I think my review should count a little bit more hehe. Enjoy!
