Food and service was great from the moment we step foot in the restaurant. The immediate acknowledgment from the staff even while she was tending to another customer to me is a + which is something you don’t see/receive everyday. The constant sporadic beverage refill and check in is also a huge bonus, she even informed us that she was stepping away and that her colleague would be able to help of anything we needed. The French toast was soooo amazingly delicious. Missing mushrooms in my omelette but not a big deal. I would highly recommend this diner to anyone looking for great family friendly staff and atmosphere!! Do stop by and check it out when you’re visiting the Brainerd Lakes area😊

I'm a biscuits and gravy fiend, and this place helps me get my fix. Any time I get the hankering for breakfast while I'm working in Baxter/Brainerd, The Skillet is at the top of my list. It's family run and the waitresses are always very friendly. Typical diner is on the menu but is done well. There is limited seating and sometimes can be very crowded, but service is quick. Plenty of parking can be found behind the building.

We typically don't like to try new places as it seems like more and more we get let down. But we recently tried the Skillet, as our typical go to place we eat was packed. So glad we did!! This place has an old school feel and the food is great!!! I strongly recommend the Taco omelet! Prices were awesome too! We will definitely be back and if it is as good as the first time, then it will absolutely be on our regular list.

My wifes eggs were not even barely cooked, mine were over cooked, my daughter pancakes were so tough we couldn't even cut them. The server was nice and understanding. Took over an hour to get our food and this was how it came out. Someone I believe was a manager came over and explained they have a small kitchen and 2 cooks. I can deal with the long wait time but when the food doesn't come out cooked properly, that's a problem. We won't be back.

Adorable cafe! The staff was incredibly nice and so welcoming to us. They loved our two boys and were so kind to them. The food was delicious and we will definitely be back!
