Sheraton Suites Chicago O'Hare

We enjoyed our stay here, selected for the convenience of an early morning flight out. The room had an pungent odor, which I believe to be water, and I suspect it from the gaps in the shower doors that inevitably leaks water, and the odor was likely from moisture from previous guests. The restaurant staff provided exceptional service! The shuttle service was punctual and convenient, but the the driver dropped us off at the wrong terminal (I'll own that I should have investigated what terminal to get out at, but historically I have just told the driver what airline I am flying and they dropped me off at the appropriate terminal without me giving it much thought). With a family of 4, and two of them small children, walking with enough luggage for a two week trip to another terminal while pressed for check-in/security lines, it was a stressful experience. Location was great, and I only gave it 5 stars when comparing it to the Hilton that is literally at the airport.
We had our national square dance convention here. The meeting rooms, bathrooms, and restaurant were spotless. Had a sandwich in the restaurant and it was delicious. However there wasn't enough parking to accommodate so many people. We had to park several blocks away and walk to the hotel.
Amazing service from the WHOLE staff! Please give these hardworking hospitality folks a pay raise. Excellent & affordable buffet breakfast Large near professional sized gym Opportunities: Queen beds in suites instead of Twin XL Full. Very challenging for 2 adults to sleep in small beds Keycards frequently become deactivated… annoying
Slightly dated yet still very nice hotel. Rooms are very clean. Front desk staff is very nice. Cleaning crew is a bit over-zealous as they tried to enter before I checked out twice before 10:00am. Use that "Privacy Please" sign as a deterrent. Breakfast is free if you have access to the Platinum lounge on the 11th floor. Standard fare there like scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. But, they have two Starbucks coffee machines. Pro Tip: There is a beautiful open area across the street at the Signify building that is the perfect spot to sit and relax on a nice day.
I'll be nice and give them at least 2 stars. I am very unhappy with my stay here. They charged me TWICE and then told me there was "nothing they could do" because their system shows they only charged me once. I showed proof of the TWO transactions on my account! The extra money they charged was my rent money!! How am I supposed to pay my rent now? And they act like they don't have a care in the world. This is my first trip to Chicago and next time I come here I am NOT staying here. I am very disappointed in how they treat their customers. I do like the room though. It is a very clean and nice room. It's disappointing that I had a bad experience here for my first time because I would've loved to come back here, but I refuse to come back to a hotel who charges a customer twice and does nothing about the second charge. Acting like it isn't their fault when THEIR SYSTEM charged me!!! UPDATE 5/2/24: Hotel charged me another $226 for my first night and $279 for my second night while staying there. Not sure why I was even charged over $1200 at check in if they were just going to charge me another $500. Very upsetting honestly UPDATE 5/4/24: Spoke with a supervisor and they are refunding me the extra $1200 they charged which I am thankful for. They said I was charged extra due to "manual error". I understand humans make mistakes but they should make sure their staff are doing things correctly when charging their customers. Thank you for the supervisor who helped me out with this situation and refunded me my money. I appreciate it.
