Sancho Ancho
What people are saying
We wanted to stop at a place we haven’t tried yet, so we stopped at Sancho Ancho. This place was very clean! As soon as you walk in the doors you are greeted very politely and seated. Our waitress was extraordinary. The chips and queso were delicious, my hubby loved the salsa. We were very pleased with the food we ordered. We ordered the tamale dinner and the big boy burrito
We decided to have a late lunch here. We had the Sancho white queso. Mrs. Flip Out had the street tacos and enjoyed them. The kids menu did not have a taco so Little Flip Out had a quesadilla. I had the lunch combo with a taco, enchilada, and flauta, and all were good.
It was good, a little on the expensive side however. I got the street tacos with carne asada and my bf got the pollo a la brasa quesadilla. The chicken was delish. My steak was a little bland. I would get the chicken next time. The small ramekins of complementary salsa were really good but on the spicy side which I love, but a lot of people are not into that. We paid $6 for the white queso and it was pretty good, but I would skip next time. The chips were fried in house, our first basket wasn't cooked all the way so they tasted chewy or stale. The second basket was perfect. The borracho beans were soooooo good. My plate came piping hot, like seriously a lawsuit waiting to happen hot. I would worry about people burning themselves, luckily I knew but I was afraid to even brush against it. I got the French 75 cocktail for $9 and it was really good and my bf got a dos equis for under $5. I will go back but to save money, skip the drinks and queso. *edit* went a 2nd time. The 1/2 pollo a la brasa was good, could have shared that with my bf. Mac and cheese bland, black beans bland. Roasted corn and stuffed blackened chicken was good.
This was ok and not for us. Nice people and clean dining. I wouldn't waste money on the drinks unless they come up with a nice price and served in a pitcher. The taco salad was nicely presented but the pieces of lettuce, spinach and meat were way too big. It was pretty bland and the meat was tough. Also ordered the blackened pollo which was better but not enough for a future visit. Different strokes for different folks.
Sancho Ancho may be my new Casedorez. Their service and location are impeccable. Not to mention their less than $10 lunch specials. Their seasoned tortilla chips are a game changer. The salsa is 100x better than Ted's. (Sancho Ancho actually has flavored salsa not bland tomato water.) My lunch Chicken Chimichanga was a deal.. delicious!
