This place was beautiful, and I got some great photos of the view we had from our room, the private little "beach" (riverbed, really), and the food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. We each bought one of their coffee cups, too! The rooms were spacious, with a really nice bathroom, a separate small "kitchen" sink, and a closet that contained an ironing board + iron. We were also hoping to get a chilled bottle of champagne, but sadly, they were unavailable during our stay. This place would be great for a relaxing weekend getaway for you, a "girls' trip," and a nice getaway for couples.

This review is for the grill specifically. There aren't a lot of places in Boardman to accommodate a group of 24 for dinner on a Saturday night, so I made sure to call ahead 3 weeks in advance to make a reservation. The views are beautiful and the location is amazing, it's true. However, the service my group received was really bad. Our group was served by one server, the bartender was rude and it took 2 hours to get our food. Yes, you read that correctly, 2 hours. When the food arrived, the burgers were burned. They couldn't even keep our drinks filled as we waited. An hour in they brought us chips and salsa that tasted like it was sitting out all day in the 100 degree heat. I had the same group here last year and the service was a little slow, and that was to be expected, but two hours is never okay. Riverlodge - please staff your grill or tell large groups you cannot accommodate them!

Other then the view of the river, this hotel wasn't anything special. The pool was disgusting, the skimmer filter was full of bugs, leaves and not sure what else. The water was not circulating at all, and it was pretty green. We talked with 3 different staff members about the pool issues and nothing was done. Even after we cleaned the bucket ourselves, nothing changed. Also the table canopy was destroyed and pointless. Needless to say I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

It was a good value and dog friendly. The room was clean and the grounds are very nice. The view from the restaurant was amazing. There is a walking trail along the river. Not many eating options nearby, so this place is ideal for a visit where you want to hunker down and focus on a good book. We found a very nice dog park nearby that has separate large and small dog areas, and many agility course items.

I've been staying here off & on for years now, always friendly staff rooms are always clean. The restaurant is really good. My only complaint is that the tvs could use and upgrade. I recommend the cabins 100% are really nice & peaceful right along the river.
