Rite Aid
What people are saying
The pharmacy staff here is the best! We've been going here for years and always receive friendly, efficient, kind, and helpful service. I can't say enough about how well they treat their customers! The pharmacists as well as the pharmacy techs, go out of their way to quickly wait on customers and get their prescriptions filled in a timely manner. We never go anywhere else!
Not impressed... Came to get my prescription, and (as seems to be the norm lately) they were closed, during regular business hours, as others have mentioned. A sign said it was "due to an emergency." I don't mean to be insensitive, but when this is a norm, rather than the exception, I'm not sure that it qualifies to be closed during business hours as an "emergency." Also, is there a valid reason that the drive thru has been closed for several months? That's another inconvenience...ugh. Per the photo, note how the hours, which used to be M-F went from 8 am - 8 pm, to 8 am - 7 pm "temporarily" due to Covid, to now is only open 10 am - 6 pm (minus their lunch, which used to be only the pharmacist to a full staff absence from 1:30 pm - 2 pm). Seems to me that any objective person would look at this, and say "You know, I think that this place might be mismanaged." Yes, I understand that many places are struggling to fill staff positions, but this is seriously pushing the limits of understanding. Don't know about you, but I'm considering using a different pharmacy. Poor showing, folks. I hope they can get their act together, but if this location closes, it won't be a surprise to me.
So I walked in at 6 to get my prescription, leaving work early to get there(I work 11-12 hours a day, 6 days a week) I got there just as they were closing. Instead of saying "sorry sir we're closed" which I would fully understand and Apologize as I'm in retail(was unsure of their hours) the large man behind the counter acted like a petulant child. Rolling is eyes and kicking things at me just standing there. Gave me an attitude so intense I could FEEL it. I'm not one to judge, but God forbid this guy help someone with a legitimate medical concern and staying 5 minutes over his 4 hour shift(assuminghe worked their hours of 2-6). Straight up pathetic.
Drove 35 minutes to pick up a prescription I really need only to find they can't be bothered to have the pharmacy open even though the website says it is. I'll be switching to another pharmacy on Monday. Sad really. Well, here I am again. The previous review was Sunday, they decided to not open. It's now Monday, I went to work, and I do NOT work in Peterborough. Then left work to go get my prescriptions trusting that as per the posted store pharmacy hours they would open at 8 am. Drove to Peterborough. On the store it also says the pharmacy is open at 8. But of course, that's also a lie. They supposedly now open at 10. I have now been going out of my way 3 days to get medications I really need(including Sat but they had no power so can't blame them for that day). To say it's absurd would be a understatement. I would suggest to anyone who needs anything other than chips or eye shadow ( because of course the front part of the store is open ) to go elsewhere
The pharmacy and store staff and managers at the Peterborough Rite Aid have taken wonderful care of my late wife and me for decades. The service is consistently, warm, friendly, cheerful, efficient, helpful, swift, and caring. it always feels like VIP treatment. My insurance plan wants me to purchase medications on line from the plan, but I am willing to pay a little more in order to take advantage of the phenomenal service from the Peterborough Rite Aide staff and managers.
