Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel
What people are saying
Thank God for Marriott point bonuses. After a canceled flight, this place for only 20,000 points, came in a free shuttle to pick us up and it was not that bad for an airport hotel. Our room was pretty big and clean. Some things were dated a bit and the bathtub clogged up. There is nowhere to walk to get any beers or food so we felt stranded and only choice was to eat in their restaurant. It was decent. 55$ bill for 3 of us. Waitress was wonderful. Whoever hires here does a good job because the crew of employees were very friendly and treated each other like best friends.
Definitely starting to show its age. Staff is nice enough, but doesn’t go above and beyond. Gym is amazing! Definitely top 5 hotel gyms I’ve ever been to. Concierge lounge is nice and quiet and usually has a decent dinner.
Don't be scared!! We stayed here for 1 night and it was fine. I am a platinum member and this airport fit our needs for a stopover for a cruise. This hotel has all the features know for Renaissance hotels. We did not use the shower. But that is a personal choice in precaution to starting a long cruise. If not cruising I would have used the shower. Great staff service.
I am a happy Marriott user, mainly in Asia and they are excellent. Ive only been to a handful in the US in the past and they have all been particularly lacklustre. This hotel is no exception. Its clean and has a good bed. The hotel has served it’s purpose for my needs today. Buts whats with American hotel staff..? They all give the feeling that everything is too much trouble and look miserable. If you cant be hospitable don't get into hospitality! Go to Asia, they do their jobs with a smile and are happy (at least thats the message they send). Would look at other options next time at Newark Airport.
The most disingenuous, deceptive and unprofessional level of hospitality I have encountered in a long time. The hotel has serious health issues with its water that they are supposedly working with NJDOH .. however they conveniently only inform guests AFTER reservation is complete. Of course not appreciating (or more likely care) that this could be a major deciding factor for many guests, or that once guests arrive at the hotel it is too late to change plans. And what do they give to alleviate the situation? Only 3 x 8oz. Bottles of water... Not even regular full size bottles. Literally the smallest size possible. STAY AWAY. This hotel needs to be closed at least until its issue is fixed. The mannerism and service is another level of unprofessional and I am a gold elite Marriott Convoy member so God knows how they may be treating other guests.
